He has a whole lot more power than Hops does though. We'll see, Calzaghe has an iron chin too

when he steps in for the "Super Blurry Wind Mill Flurry", nobody can deny that he squares up so much, that he is almost around to orthodox stance a lot of the times. I believe Pavlik will have an authoritative answer for this. Pavlik never loses.

You missed my point entirely. Kessler hit Calzaghe with harder shots. It's the timing and angle of the punch that contributed to putting him down. He didn't see it coming at all. Pavlik is unlikely to land that kind of shot, and people shouldn't be suprised if he doesn't really hurt Calzaghe.

So we've established that Pavlik hits harder than Winky Wright and Verno Phillips.

I bet Joe'll drop his load when he hears this...

Plugs, IF Pav could pull off a KO victory over Joe in Wales, what would happen? No American gets out alive? Riots in the streets? What's your opinion? Would love to save up and go, but not be live on the set of "28 Days Later".:-(

Well, nobody loses until they do lose. Calzaghe never loses and has never lost more often. But I agree 100% that the "SBWMF" (perfect description, by the way  ) will be the end of him. Down on his ass, and likely to stay.

Since Joe can't crack as hard as Winky Wright or Verno Phillips, Pavlik doesn't have anything to worry him beyond getting a rash from a mosquito slap ....

Don't worry about it mate, the Welsh have a vast and extensive experience of losing at sports, they're used to it.

mucho disappointment and an eerie silence as everyone leaves the stadium but no rioting.

this isn't a "no black man will take my title", national front followed twat like alan minter we're talking about.

the worst you'll get is some booing and a some cups thrown at the ring but nothing more.

marauder1999 - indeed he has eaten a punch at least as hard as pavlik can throw when he fought kessler.
I say pavlik should fight kessler first then go from there. that is THE test. the styles of those two would be incredible to watch.

Pavlik - JC.... i say JC because of ring and mega-fight experience.
Though the way pavlik dealt with taylor's INSANE speen in Pav - Tayor II was nothing less than shocking. i never knew pavlik could move like that.
But still, i have to say JC - both are in my top 5 favorite fighters right now, i would hate to see either of 'em lose heh heh...

I think its either way a victory for Kels ... he can beat Calzaghe by KO'ing him or taking the decision ... we've only seen Kels go 12 rds once and he didn't look to fade ...

Calzaghe turns it up down the stretch, but if he elects to trade with Kels then he's going to find himself kissing the canvas.

Pav has improved on his defense, his precision & accurracy, and his right hand.

Pav doesn't throw the right hand normal ... he can throw it over the top and he throws it like a hook and he throws it like a jab ...

I think the double jab would be the determining factor of this fight ... his jab will be more of a defensive and offensive weapon against Calzaghe ...

He also is good on his toes ... he doesn't fight flat footed ... he has some bounce to his step and can adjust to Calzaghe's movement.

He won't have to worry about cutting off the ring because Calzaghe often times elects to stand toe to toe and trade - he doesn't go backwards.

Definitely a KO needed, no way he beats Joe by decision.
