these aren't hatton fans. i've been to a number of calzaghe fights live so i think i've got a pretty good idea of what would "go down". just because we're british sports fans doesn't mean we're out looking to kick the **** out of people when our team or man loses.

That's just it bro, there's no evidence of what would happen though if "The Pride of Wales" suffered his first loss, to an American MW.

the questions come because the only experience I have with Joe C. fans is the posters on ESB, who will wish ill **** against your dead relatives if you are bold enough to criticize Joe's trunk color.:deal

Kels will beat this guy no matter how it comes ... this guy doesn't easily get discouraged ... he's show improvement his last 5 fights ... he's tighten up and gotten more fine tuned.

Don't you remember the Hatton fans ripping up Las Vegas after he lost, place looked like Beruit.

KP does have some die hards, and as far as I can see this fight could be the climax of his career. I can't foresee what could top POSSIBLY beating a 10+ year champ of the 2 divisions above MW, at home?

    This is the BIG ONE.:deal

i think it is possible for a pavlik UD win. however i would not like to bet real money on it!

for me the reasoning is this. i was pretty sure kessler would win based on his youth and physical talent (plus sound technical abilities). however i was worried about kessler's willingness to mixs things up if plan A didn't work. he said he was ready for that but i still had a little bit of doubt. i mean kessler had never really enjoyed getting into brawls like pavlik and calzaghe sometimes do, and sure enough once calzaghe got out of the fourth round intact, kessler became confused and doubted himself which proved fatal. the other reason was that he turned out to be quite limited in ideas, unless it was simply he unwillingness to mix things up.

pavlik on the other hand already has shown to be more dimensional than kessler by the simple fact he can brawl or box. i feel kessler is more accurate than pavlik but the difference in accuracy is minimal to me and also negated by pavlik's ability to throw far more shots and more importantly willing to put himself into harm's way.

you can't win fights without taking risks. so while kessler is better than pavlik in some respects, pavlik's advantages outweigh kessler's.

the thing about this fight is pavlik will try boxing from the outside (and please dont say it would be impossible, i rewatched the first taylor fight and boy pavlik can move quick when he WANTS to. it all depends on the situation)

now the most important aspect from all this is pavlik is willing to do different things. he isn't afraid to get hit on the nose so to speak and i feel that might be calzaghe's downfall if he goes in thinking pavlik is a plodder with only a slow 1-2 and limited ideas like kessler.

pavlik will try boxing joe like he did verses taylor in both their fights, and taylor is fast. not saying he is joe calzaghe but he had raw speed on his side and it didn't help any. and joe is getting old now we have to remember. IF pavlik realises he cannot win by outside fighting since he has a reach/height advantage, he will become physical and really try to upset calzaghe with rough inside fighting.

i feel it's pickem 50/50 fight if it comes down to long range boxing.
BUT i really do feel based on where both are at now, inside fighting will see joe ko'ed late by accumilation.

having said that joe is a great adaptor, so i will never rule out anything from him. but with bad hands, lessing power and reaction times slowing down with getting older, i think his chin and stamina wont be enough to survive a macho brawl. if calzaghe is the SLIGHTEST bit hurt, pavlik will go that extra bit to try and take him out. that is where kessler was ultimately flawed. he simply doesn't have enough dog in him.

That he does, but there won't be many that can afford the trip overseas. The US dollar sucks, the US economy sucks, and the Youngstown, Ohio economy sucks worst of all. Unless Kelly's footing the bill, it's going to be him alone with a stadium full of Welshmen.

Well yeah, all of that is painfully true. But I didn't mean to imply we'd fly in like the Hatton Storm Troopers of Death. ****, might not be 25-50 in total, but would like to research a little before making the decision.

I would also have to insist on buying a drink for TFFP, PlugInBabies, Cobbler, PrideofWales, and a select few others to whom I appologize for not naming right this second, but will have acknowledged before leaving. So I better start saving now.:deal

He's got great fans. And none of them have booed someone else's national anthem last I checked. Just make sure you note the stadium emergency escape roots if you go so that you can get out quick when Pavlik puts Calzaghe away.
