rewatching the Hopkins fight and given Pavlik's style, I have a hard time picturing Pavlik beating a schooled veteran boxer such as Hopkins,Jones, Calzaghe, etc. Now I may be jumping the gun a bit given the fact that Hopkins is a freak of nature and probably the best middleweight in the last 25 years but can he ever learn to adapt to that kind of style?
He didn't do bad against Taylor. I guess he can if the guy is not too fast, too slick and doesn't punch hard.
i know most of u think im crazy but i firmly believe as long as sturm doesnt get stupid and try to trade with pavlik he should be able to box circles around him for a decision victory. :bbb:thumbsup
not crazy at all, I'm a pavlik fan and I think Sturm has a great chance of beating pavlik by decision.
pavlik can definitely beat a pure boxer. the guys a ****in beast. once he gains a fighters respect with his workrate and power, it doesn't matter what kind of fighter he is. he's gonna stop taking chances, go on the defensive, and will eventually either tire and get knocked out, or tire and lose the fight on points. obviously it depends on who we're talking about here. hopkins was obviously bigger than pavlik and is an atg. who else is gonna beat pav? i dont think anyone, especially at 160. pavlik is much better suited at 160, not 168.
Sturm can box, he gave delahoya a good fight and many thought he won that fight. This guy can fight and i would not be surprise if he beat pavilk. I hope the middleweight champions can fight each other and try to unify the titles. Have a middleweight tournament like don king did back in early 2000's.
i still havent seen much of korobov. i better start looking up some stuff cause i'm hearing a lot lately.
Sturm is a more skilled "pure boxer" than Pavlik or Abraham. However, 12 rounds is a long ****ing time when you're trying to keep a relentless KP from trapping you on ropes, or trying to keep AA from landing a bomb. I think he loses to both.
