Pure boxer =/= slick counter-puncher. Pavlik will have trouble with the latter, but he can overload the former (e.g. JT X2).
bute is also a southpaw which pav hasnt seen a lot of in his career. not to mention bute is a top fighter at a weight class above pav and yes he does have good movement. bute also should have a loss on his record. i have no problem w/ bute at all, i like watching him fight but put smoger in the ring that night and he loses his 0 and rightly so. if bhop couldnt take pav out at 170!! hitting him with everything except the ringpost and showing him angles and styles that no other boxer will be able to show him (bute included) then i think pav can hunt bute down and take him out in the later rounds, especially if bute gasses like he did against adrade. he gasses like that agaisnt pav he will get ktfo b/c pav won't stop coming forward. edit: not predicting a pav ko over bute, just saying it could happen :hi:
I think Sturm is too relaxed and skillful to fall for Pavliks repetetive jab + straight right hand combos. I see it playing out similar to the Hopkins fight
I think he can fight against a pure boxer but only with large flaws. If the pure boxer is a light hitter, yes. If the pure boxer is chinny, yes. I couldn't see him winning against a textbook fighter with a good chin and average power though.
