Williams can rest his nut's on lil' Floyd's chin during the fight.

    (But this is "

    " H2H so Floyd's untouchable defense
and one Punch KO Potshot power @ WW outclasses Williams
to gain a Grand Canyon like UD.)

6" height is of course a disadvantage, but its certainly not insurmountable, especially when youre the best boxer int he world.

Chag outboxer the 7' Valuev at about 6'1 tops. James Toney at 5-9 outboxed guys taller than Williams who also dont look like POW's. For him 'not to be able to reach' Williams head, the difference has to be literally a couple of feet in height

I think think this would be an excellent fight, probably the greatest challenge for Mayweather at 147. The key, as acb pointed out, is whether Williams would fight the correct fight.

He did show the ability to adjust in Quintana II, sitting back a little and as he said after the fight, "let this guy come to me this time." That's really the key for Paul against Mayweather, because he could rack up a points advantage by using the jab and keeping Mayweather at range, outpunching Floyd by a big margin.

On the other hand, Floyd isn't going to have trouble finding Williams, who is easy to counterpunch. However, while Mayweather will not be at risk so much on the way in, he will be on the way out.

He'll have to travel a very long distance to escape Williams' own counters, and PW is tall enough, I think he can reach Floyd when PBF hides behind his shoulder. Just consider the angles Hatton used to attack the shoulder-rolling Floyd, versus those that Williams would be using.

Both men would trouble the other greatly, and Floyd would have to be much more aggressive than he was against De La Hoya or Baldomir to win.

Haven't you seen the threads where Floyd Fanatics are convinced he could 'pot shot' his way to a win against Pavlik? Williams would be easier.

Paul Williams already learned a lesson from that fight and annihilated Quintana in the second fight...

Paul Williams a much better fighter now...

No, he just caught Quintana early. He has not adapted his style from what I can see. He still gives up his height and tries to brawl.

How about Paul's win over Winky Wright and Verno Phillips? Those were impressive wins...
