+1. There's always ways to nitpick pretty much any win.

Agreed 1000%. Canelo was still a world level fighter. It's a win that's aged wonderfully. Cinnamon just wasn't peak yet.

If you put the 2017 version in with the one Floyd fought, nobody would favor the 2013 version.

About the first time I agree with 22JM. Today's Canelo would take Floyd's Canelo behind the woodshed and administer a 'big brother' style beating on him. Especially because Floyd made sure to drain every last ounce of strength from him.

OK so if we get a more seasoned Canelo beat an older faded Floyd do you think the people who label the version of Canelo Mayweather beat 'green' would give Floyd a bit of a pass for being old and fighting way above his prime weight? I somehow doubt it.

    I wouldn't expect it lol.

Floyd's got haters who'd find a way to give him zero credit for whatever he did and find a way to twist it.

For some reason, it's usually the best fighters that get the most irrational ones.

"Green" Canelo was still a world class guy coming in with a size advantage even if he wasn't what he'd develop & grow in to. When I think "green" I think of someone like 93 Hopkins in Roy I who hadn't fought a single Ring ranked contender yet and really needed some championship experience. Canelo wasn't that green, but the experience of the Floyd fight made him a better fighter.

I agree, kind of. The Mayweather that faced Berto, schools Canelo again, however the Mayweather that fought McGregor, loses by KO.

And had he fought him at 154 then the excuse would have been just he was green. Pbf can never win with people like you . They are always full of excuses and always look to discredit his wins.

Some people may hate Floyd, but his actions throughout the years have brought deserved criticism.

He only has himself to blame.

He could easily have beaten Canelo without a C-W.

He could easily have beaten JMW without messing around with his weight.

    Go and read Serge's posts.

    Go and read Canelo's interview.

Floyd has contradicted himself numerous times.

    thanks for clarifying
it is a great example of why boxing suffers from not having one governing federation, and the liberties that can be taken by fighters who bring 'once in a lifetime' paydays to their opponents
