I'm very sorry, I thought you knew that you were a troll so I didn't think it would be offensive. Does "soft" refer to my body? Because I am ripped to shreds.

Serious? He knocked Cintron out, and obviously won a decision. The judges screwed him.

He's not using the usual triangle logic. He's simply pointing out that Quintana is a southpaw just like Martinez and are both slick counter punchers with speed and skill. I think he's stating that the style match-up isn't good for paul Williams and I have to agree with him. This is a horrible style match-up for P-Will. He is going to get hit often by someone who is much stronger than Carlos Quintana.

If Paul Williams gets by Martinez, it will be just as impressive as his victory over Antonio Margarito.

I don't have **** against Martinez... As I don't have **** against Margarito and Carlos. At least they have the nutz to step in the ring. As far as the Quintana1 fight, Paul looked bad. He has never looked that sluggish and slow to attack. Quintana deserved the victory, but Paul was not at his best. Maybe it was Quintana that made him look so sluggish and took him out of his game?

What I do know for a fact is this: Paul knew he had an opening to crush Quintana in the first fight, but he never exploited it because he knew he would have to take a few punches in order to get to it. In the second fight, he decided to go ahead and say "**** it" and trade with Carlos as he threw that "eyes closed" looping overhand right that he would throw as he lunged in... He realized that Carlos would never hurt him with that punch, but that he could definitely hurt Carlos if he went ahead and traded. And that same opening would have been there the entire second fight. Paul just went aheaad and exploited it the first round and you see what happened.

Sergio is different. People like to compare him to Carlos, but he is a little faster, about the same footspeed, not-so-heavy-handed, and doesn't take the same chances that Carlos did in the first fight. I think Petey will keep his distance, swoop in to attack the body, and stay with the gameplan until Sergio begins to tire, and then try to overwhelm him once he slows down a little.

Paul looked a bit shite against an old, shopworn Verno Phillips.
Also ran out there against Quintana and took the same shots frequently in the rematch, before putting Quintana out of there, which means he's repeating the mistakes, but in fairness to him he came out with a different mental approach in that fight.

I expect nothing less than a competetive fight against Martinez, Paul is not what everyone makes him out to be, but he would've took the belts against Pavlik.

lmao @ folks calling Williams-Quintana 1 a "12 round schooling" stfu and watch the fight. Clearly an off-night and a poor gameplan by PWill

Olympic medallists of any kind can never be taken lightly, especially if they won gold. Abdullaev-Cotto was actually a pretty rugged and hard-fought fight.

I do remember that all the time and I guess other fans too . . . but you see . . . PW has moved on and accomplished better things than Quintana since that fight. PW has been consistent climbing up the steps . . . so I attribute that loss as just a bad night for PW.

Well, honestly I think it was a little worse than a just bad night.

I will give Quintana credit for taking advantage of his "off night". He deserves it. And Paul will be the first to admit that. And of course, I agree, he has moved on to accomplish bigger things since then, so he really shouldn't be jduged off of this one fight.

    I agree . . . I'm not taking away anything from Quintana's victory.

Ideally I would like to believe that the experience paul williams has in this fight will be the deciding factor

A lot of body work to slow martinez
    A late round tko

That was an incredibly weight drained Williams, even his skin color looked jaundice-like. Williams is a fine fighter but that fight was a wake-up call even for him. It was more than just being avoided at welter that made him move up. Imo he should stay at 154 and up but seek no more welter glory.

I also suspect that Williams has problems making 147lbs.
