I agree that Khan won it. You can find enough arguments to award him 8 rounds as well. But it still was a close contest and one easily could have scored the fight as the follows since there is no uniformed standard how the scoring criteria have to be assessed among themselves. Also i think there gets a pit too much drama put into the 10th round because of Khans chin story

    Khan vs Maidana
    10-8
    10-9
    9-10
    9-10
    10-9 Maidana -1
    9-10
    9-10
    10-9
    10-9
    8-10
    9-10
    9-10
    _____
    112-113 Maidana

It's a clear scoring win for Khan. I don't understand the hate for the guy where is it coming from?

i scored the fight to khan by 3 points on 1 watch, being generous, it could be argued 4 points but either way, a pretty good fight by both men.

    Effective aggression.
As the fight progressed Khan weakened while Maidona became stronger.
Maidona's punches were having a devastating effect on Khan while Khan's punches became relatively ineffective on Maidona.
I suppose many were impressed by Khan's piter-pater shoeshine combos.
    Those punches are relatively ineffective.
    They dont impress.
One effective punch weighs much heavier than 10 of those powder-puff punches.
Plus just look at the receipient of those punches.
Also -- how one finishes weighs heavy as well.
Pro boxing is not the olympics.
Punch stats are only interesting and can create a false impression.
I actually thought that the decision should of been given to Maidona based on the above.

Watched it 3 times now, 114-111 Khan, just don't see any room for a draw at all.

Its very hard to understand people scoring that fight a draw!! You have to give maidana far too many rounds he just didnt win to do that imo, the punch stats back that up pretty clearly too, so i just dont see it

I agree that the hatred for Khan has become excessive to the point of absurdity. However, I suspect that part of the reason for it stems from the over-the-top nuthugging of so many Brits on here.

We have, for example, assholes on here attempting to suggest he's on a par with Floyd Mayweather. FFS! :-(

Incidentally, I had it 7-5 (possibly 7-4-1) for Khan.

khan did enough to win, by 1 2 3 or 4 depending how biased you are, the only way maidana would have been if it was stopped in the 10th, i think if cortez stopped pulling maidana off khan it wouldve been close, but **** me khan can't half take a solid shot lol

in order to give this fight a draw you would have to say khan lost 8 rounds

Who's saying he's on the level of Mayweather? Not even Lazarus - Khan's chief nut-hugger - is saying that. People are talking about a Khan versus Mayweather fight because it's been talked about by those around Khan as a possibility. Nobody is saying he's going to beat Mayweather.

And who cares if he has over-the-top-nuthugging fans? If you let a fighter's fans - who they themselves can do nothing about - cloud your judgement of a fighter, you are an idiot. Simple as that. Judge a fighter on his ability and the way he handles his business in the ring and who he fights, not on people that aren't even connected to him.

Learn to score a fight. Giving Maidana rounds 4 and 11 is laughable.
