He's everything I hate about boxing, being introduced as the heavyweight champion of the world, after blatantly ducking the best fighters in the division and beating up old shot washed up fighters.
Pathetic, can't wait to see the **** get sparked by klitchko or any half decent heavy.

He's the second best heavy behind Waldo now.

Povetkin is a joke this is the only 33 year old prospect around his team keeps saying 2 more fights to Wlad this and that he is wasting whatever is left of his subpar career.

No, it's far too late at this stage. He'd have to fight a murderer's row of opponents back to back Froch style then take on Wlad and give it a right good go, to earn any respect from me. Taking on the bums he fought, then signing to fight Rahman just dropped him below David Haye in the "don't give a ****" category.

I haven't lost anymore respect for him. Then again, I never really respected him anyway.

I mean, I respect his abilites as a fighter. I never stopped. But his career path that started well turned on a dime and hasn't been steered straight.

He shouldve fought Wlad immediately after Chagaev. That woulda been the respectful thing to do. Instead, he has continued to pretend to defend that farcical belt. ROFL.

He could have fought Wlad, then made these winnable fights vs Huck, Boz, Rahman, Pulev or whoever. :-(

First it was Teddy Atlas that was saying Povetkin is not ready for Klitschko's. My opinion of Tedy Atlas as a coach is not so high despite the fact that even now Sasha Povetkin speaks honorably about the American. Rahman wasn't fit, but it's not so easy to match him for example to his fellow undefeated stablemates Pulev or Helenius. Sauerland do not win noting from this. One of their prospects will lose 0. they wanted Huck to get the title, because he is far more popular then Sasha in Germany. Whatever goes Povetkin-Huck match they are winners.

About Haye, you all know that he just select non risked fights as Chisora, Ruiz or Audley and wants hell of a money to fight Klitschkos. Fury, Wach, Glazkov, Wilder, Boytsov.. i don't think Povetkin is scared of them. I am pretty sure he is ready to match with any of them, but it's about negotiations, money, rankings. Pulev and Helenius as well wants to fight Fury, Glazkov or Wilder, why not Wach, but it's not easy to make such a deal.

This. If he takes his beating like a pro then all will be forgiven here at ESB. I wouldn't mind seeing him give it a go against a major contender either.

One thing going right for Povetkin is he may have the right trainer for him in Kostya...

    :-( Yes.

Yeah, I really, really hope he can do the kid some good. One of the most dedicated modern fighters in his training/preparation, working with and training Povetkin.:conf Let's hope it rubs off.
