Couture also can fight at 205 and has held that title before twice so for those talking Heavyweights only dont forget those facts. To answer the question id say yes Couture can regain a title hes always competitive and has a style to give any kind of fighter fits. I think if he fought Shogun and could close to the distance and turn this into a clinch/grappling battle he could really test Shogun's less then stellar cardio. The chances however are slim.

Get real. Couture won't be able to win the UFC title at 205 or heavy at this stage. He wouldn't be one of the top 5 guys in either weight division in the UFC ranks imo.

He is old but smart and he can Hopkin-esque someone. He knows his strengths and weaknesses like X and despite any talk in the ring they know what to do to ensure their best chances of winning.

Come on man. Shogun would tap that chin and it would be good night Randy. No doubt about it. Guys like Bones Jones and Machida would be far too fast and explosive for Randy now.

No. Couture is finished. Vera beat him up, that was a damn robbery :deal Shogun would ****ing destroy him! So would Machida. Heavyweight...forget it, can you imagine Carwin/Velasquez/Dos Santos fighting Couture??? They might actually kill him at this stage :deal

Please, he tried that on Vera and Vera stuffed every single takedown and hurt him several times. Jones would destroy him, and so would many others.

shogun is champion now, and as I said, he would KO randy.

if randy doesn't get a shot for a while, then the only other people likely to be the champ when he gets a shot are machida (who will beat rampage easily) or bones jones (who will beat bader easily).

and to even get a shot at shogun, randy would probably have to beat someone like machida or jones, to show he is a legit force at lhw right now. which he would be unable to do, genius.

Both divisions are too stacked for Couture. I doubt he would even get to the title shot. He probably would need at least 1 or 2 fights in either division to get there, which is highly unlikely. In a different era, possibly, but not now.

Nothing is impossible in a one off match I spose and Randy being Randy might well get a title shot without needing to beat quality opposition.

Right now I actually think his shot at HW would be better simpley because Shogun's such a bad style matchup. Unless Rua is injuried again Randy is giving up power, chin, speed and facing BJJ good enough to make him worry about getting the takedown as he did vs Nog(maybe his subs arent as good but his sweeps are great and his GnP highly dangerous).

Lesnar on the other hand did look beatable, Randy made a pretty bad error for the TKO and right now we really don;t know how Brocks cardio would stand up to 5 rounds of grind.
