Rigondeaux is not too old. He still has probably around 6, 7 or 8 good solid years left!

If he is rushed super quickly, then he can surely surpass Floyd.

Guillermo is much better and much more talented than Floyd.

Hard to say. First, P4P doesn't mean ****. You ask 100 people to give their P4P list. And you might end up with at least 75 different lists. Even if you ask 100 Americans, you will get at least 50 different lists.

Second, what the hell has Rigondeux done with mentioning?? Amateur record??? Cuba has no amateur team. They have professionals without pay. Understand something, When you are in the Cuba boxing team that is your job!!! That is all you do for a living. Other countries have even professionals with second jobs. Of course they will dominate the olimpics. And even that is changing.

Not saying the guy s not talented, but still has to proof himself in the pros. So far, his most important win is a 3rd round KO victory against Giovanni Andrade (who lasted 1 round against Juanma). His next opponent last fight was January 2007 (He was also stopped by Juanma in 6). So, lets wait and see. BTW, he is 29, not 34.

Ricky Quote: Second, what the hell has Rigondeux done with mentioning?

Simple answer. If you are " not paying attention " to Guillermo's " amateur greatness " is either beacause you ignore what he has done or simply you think nothing of him for being a Cubano. No other amateur has done what he has done, plain and simple except the other Cubans Stevenson and Savon. Even though that the amateurs and pros are a little different, Rigondeaux was the best " P4P " fighter of the last 10 years in the amateurs, and to some extent the pros too. Why? Because he completely " dominated and cleaned " the Bantamweights at the World Level, something that your Lopez, Mayweather or anybody else ( including other Cubans too ) have failed to do!

When you have someone like Rigondeaux that " dominated his weight class with such dominance " it's hard not to think that he is a one in a million talent, and yes he is.

Another thing, you say that the Cubans are " pros ", well in a way yes but in a way no. Let me explain better. They are pros in the sense that that's all they do but they surely go through very horrible life situations, as they don't have the training conditions that pros have here nor the good food to train properly!

And don't forget this important factor, the young Cubans also have dominated when they were young but since there is no pro boxing in Cuba they have no where to go and thus stay in the amateurs until they retire.

In a way, Rigondeaux is actually more " achieved and more accomplished " already compared to Floyd and everybody else, 2 Olympic Golds, 7 Cuban National Championships and like 3 or 4 World Championships!

My friend, if the Cubans are not dominating as much now the amateur scene is because of the many boxers that the Cuban Team has lost due to defections in the last 3 or 4 years! Names like Gamboa, Rigondeaux, Lara, Solis, Despaigne, Johnson, Dorticos etc are all Gold Medal winners for sure if they would compete in the Olympics but they are not there anymore, that's why the Cuban Team is very weak at the moment...
