I'm more of a boxing guy but i recently read Ronda's biography my fight/your fight and I came away quite impressed with her. I won some money on the Holm fight and celebrated but now when i look back, as corny as it sounds that fight saddens me. Its just sad to see someone get blown up so big like that come crashing down. So can and will she come back?
Ronda can still compete with the top no doubt. It's how she faces adversity. Has her spirit been broken since the KO though? Some fighters can deal with bad losses and come back stronger. Look at Khan, he's had some major set backs in his career and came back stronger. He was viciously KO'd by Prescott and Garcia, he's still competing with the top guys.
Rousey will come back and she'll be the champion again. Reason is cause she beats Meisha Tate ten times out of ten. She's beat her twice already in dominating fashion and Meisha hasn't really looked different since then. The only reason she lost to Holm is cause her game plan was tragically bad. She tried to stand and trade with Holm. She played right into Holms hands, coming straight for her every second and Holm was in her element with that. If they fought again I'd put big money on Rousey to win the rematch. With a different gameplan Ronda wins. BUT that division has now been turned on its head with the introduction of Cyborg! She gonna unleash hell on that division!
No. She's a total novice in anything else than wrestling. Her chin isn't that good. She'd need to learn boxing from the basis, starting from 0. Passed out Holm was still shadow boxing better than normal Rousey
That's not true. She tried to take her down from beginning. She just doesn't have the variety of takedowns needed to repeatedly take the fight to the floor. Judo tosses don't work well without gi, especially if someone is as strong/stronger than you are. She needs to clinch first anyway, which is hard against Holm who has good footwork and stays on the outside. She did get the fight to the ground once and couldn't do anything either. Holm wins this fight 9 times out of 10, maybe 10 out of 10.
She was a front runner bully who got exposed...got her ass handed to her. She was way too self important with that fake bad ass WWE, Walmart parking lot ****. I was tired to death of her and I appreciate no end Holly Holm's putting her in her place.
If Tate retains against Nunes than yes Ronda can comeback. Even when a fighter has been crushed by a devastating KO loss the best way to restore confidence is to fight a smaller foe who cant hurt you, who you have already dominated ...As we saw when Wladimir Klitschko fought Chris Byrd for the title in their rematch. Mesha Tate is Ronda's Chris Byrd. There's nothing in Tate's standup that can remotely threaten Ronda in any way. If Amanda Nunes becomes champ then Ronda's gonna have a problem.
The only reason she was so dominant was because her opposition was complete garbage, she is now just a one dimensional judoka with an armbar.
Ronda could absolutely be back, no reason why not. She just needs a different strategy (and a new coach) to deal with people like Holm that can outbox her. Frankly I'd say she needs to learn to cover up and to attack Holm's lead leg with leg kicks. Destroy Holly's mobility and you take away her ability to resist a takedown.
i dont think you will see her fight again , at some point she would have to fight holm and unless she flips her over and tears her arm off there is no way she can win and another loss like before would really kill her legacy . drifting off into the sunset like she has is probably best move , she still gets all the big endorsements and movie deals etc , but if she got exposed again in the same fashion as before all these big money deals would fall through the floor . think its safe to say she has unofficially retired .
