he would have to unify to do that and he won't. simple as that.

IF he were motivated to fight the best he has a shot of outspeeding Vitaly in a year or two as he nears 40 but no shot against Wlad.

No matter how you slice it, he will never be undisputed

Chagaev is a bum, and as soon as he fights someone who can fight, he will lose.

yes i guess that is why he beat the great felix savon 2 times in amateurs which no one else has done! (and chagaev was still teenager when he do this) plus he beat vladimir virchis (many consider gomez best win) matt skelton and john ruiz! chagaev the man!

Chagaev has gone wayyy down hill. He looked shot to **** in his last fight. I wouldn't even rank him in the top 5 heavy's right now after that debacle against the very shitty Carl Davis Drummond with whom Chagaev had mad trouble and was in by no way in control at the time of the TD.

I like Chag a lot and had hoped that he would be a major palyer in the division, but there is clearly something wrong with him. If he broke his ankle or whatever it was, that is what it is, but the cancellations against Sultan for "inflammation," the fighting of second teir guys like Skelton and third Teir like Drummond, the tentative way he fights these days in the ring- the man left his best in the amatuers.

Blind in one eye? Hepititis? Numbness in limbs? Chronic infalmmation? Some combination or all of the above? Who Knows. But this is just not the guy that a lot of us had hoped.

Hope I am wrong. I am fan.
