I always thought he was more methodical than the average aggressive fighter. Heck, he doesn´t even throw that many punches. I myself think that Canelo´s defense and distance management will make Ryder quite tentative. I expect the pace of this fight to be similar to that of Canelo vs Smith/Saunders/Kovalev. If Canelo stops Ryder, it will be because Canelo lands enough clean punches to beat Ryder down. I would be genuinely shocked if Ryder walks into anything big or even several good shots.
He's going to get caught coming in and often, trying to rough Canelo up. Its going to be a body shot or an uppercut that seals the deal.
Ryder has lost already, we all know he will not be allowed to win. If he knocked Ginger down 4 or 5 times he'd still lose by split dec lol
You say this same thing before every Canelo fight. Golovkin was given two 112-115 cards in the third fight. Bivol got the UD. Plant... well he did get one appropriate card, the others were a bit wide. Saunders scorecards were definitely wide. Jacobs walked away with two 112-115 cards. Stop with the boring ass rhetoric.
I say NOT a chance. Ryder is tailor made for Canelo who loves to fight plodders in close and that is exactly what Ryder will do. Bivol and Floyd and Lara kept the fight at a distance and on the move...and Canelo really struggles in that area. Ryder fights nothing like that. Expect a Matthew Hatton or Liam Smith like performance where Ryder turns the heat up but ultimately gets hurt (and probably stopped).
Let's try to believe Ryder wins this for a moment. What could explain Canelo loses this ? Would it be because Canelo is not a volume puncher ? He is a counter power puncher and a bit picky with his shots. Maybe Ryder can outpace him. Sometimes attack is a great defense. I see Canelo being a little too nonchalant, that might play in Ryder's favor. What if Canelo looks like a bum in this fight because he can't land any big shots? Sometimes you have to fight. If Ryder can push the pace maybe Canelo will underperform. That being said I am still not convinced I want to bet anything on Ryder. I just wanted to dream with the unicorns for a moment or play the devils advocate.
I'm tempted to do the same, also very much just for the hell of it. If I do though I'll probably jinx any chance Ryder has. I spose could negatively tactical vote Canelo and jinx him instead.... Looking forward to the scrap regardless.
Ryder would literally have to decapitate Canelo win, and then only if he doesn't get DQ'd. Nonetheless, I see a highly spirted bout as Ryder is not a hype; he is what he is.
