Can Samuel Peter to be leader of heavyweight ?

Power, solid chin, throwing haymakers with every shot - he's the kind of HW that brings excitement to the sport. He can end a fight with one punch in conscussive fashion. That's what puts fannies in the seats. Peter's success would be good for the sport, and in today's division he's got a better shot than most of ending up on top.

 

I can't stand Peter and root for Klitschko and I do want the rematch to occur. That's the only way to shut up all you Peter nuthuggers for good. Peter's damaged chin will be exposed once and for all..... although I am afraid it might happen much sooner and against someone else.

 

Damaged chin??? One fight. One uppercut did it. Not a straight right, not a hook he didn't see coming. A bump by McCline and a perfectly placed uppercut that led to further damage.

Don't go around talking about Peter having a weak chin if you're a Wladimir fan. I have the utmost respect for Wladimir as a fighter but you know as well as everyone here that Wladimir's defensive prowess is the most important part of his arsenal because his chin isn't gonna hold up if really put to the test.

 

The mind boggles about how much support some fans give this guy. The guy is a crude slugger with a big heart, thats about it. 1KO in the last 6 fights, where is this supposed awesome power? Also the guy must have the lowest IQ in boxing, that is some achievement. I think the next top 10 heavy that he will face will beat him.

 

Twenty years ago Peter would have been a tune up fight.

David Haye would wreck Peter.

He is a fat joke.

 

Someone said Peter would be a tune up 20 years ago and they're right. That said you can't fault Peter for being brought into a weak division and he's clearly the #2 right now since Chagaev apparently catches every disease known to man when a big fight comes up.

If he beats Wlad then he's #1...although questions about his weight and work ethic could make his reign at the top short.

 

I have to disagree, Haye is the real number 2.

I have to disagree, Haye hasn't even legitamately fought at heavyweight yet. Haye MAY become the #2 guy in time, or even the #1, or he may just get laid out by the 1st heavyweight that can crack. Time will tell, but no....he's not the #2 heavyweight right now by virtue of being a Cruiserweight champ and running his mouth.

Peter however, has fought and earned his spot where he is. Though I certainly don't think he will stay there for too long, and he won't be THE MAN to lead the heavyweight division.
