Can somebody explain this "cold war" mess between the promotions?

    people seem to forget that it all started with Pacquiao back in 2006.
    He re-signed his contract with Top Rank, but also signed 7-fight contract with GBP...

    They ended up having heavy legal battles for like a year and eventually settled. Manny stayed with Top Rank. But they had to pay a percentage for all Pacquiao's bouts to GBP..

    In 2010 GBP sued TR for fraud. TR reported way lower profits from Pac fights than they were actually making ( and thus having to pay less money to GBP).. At least according to GBP.
