The thing about human psyche and our own everyday hypocrisy, is that we are never able to truly look at things objectively and be completely honest with ourselves.

    I essentially agree with everything you said (because I can be honest with myself) but answer me this;

Can you be objective enough to say Crawford has never fought prime established fighters either?

Imagine it was Crawford that had had a war with Pacquiao and others on horns resume.. and he won the fights in Omaha, would you be sitting here today saying 'I admit, the pacquiao fight doesn't mean much because he's old. Same with bailey and others.. they were old. I don't give Crawford much credit for that at all'

I know this is all hypothetical, but it's frustrating seeing people so obviously biased it's hard to talk with them. I made an entire thread about crawfords weak opponents, but I have never argued that horn has faced elite people either. I think they are both untested. This fight will tell us a lot.

Just check your hypocrisy next time you think to tear down people's resume.

Ps, last time I checked, Bailey was American.

You're the one who needs to think it through, on both sides.

He doesn't have the greatest résumé, but destroying a game Gamboa was more impressive than a controversial decision over a shot Pacquiao. Even if he did get hurt for a few seconds.

I also remember many on this forum who thought Indongo was going to be a huge problem for Crawford . . .

Then after Crawford obliterated him, he was a bum all along. It'll be the same thing after he beats Horn.

And Postol... these guys all become bums after TC destroys them.

This time tomorrow these dudes will be making excuses and claiming Horn was a bum all along

    1. No Gamboa didn't knock him down
    2. No he did not refuse to fight Porter

    Ok, that's settled.

His resume is better than GGG's pre-Jacobs resume, by a mile, and he's younger.

I remember Bailey beating Mike Jones because Mike Jones was a boxer i pitied at the time. Because he was showcased several times and was hyped and it appeared glaringly obvious that he wont live up to expectations. I even commented during the round by round coverage of one fight of Mike's here ON ESB.I said "give Mike Jone's PEDS", because he was looking like a BUST and the fight was getting sadder and sadder round by round, i felt sorry for him. Not sure if it was the Randle Bailey fight. That's who Bailey beat to become world champions again.

Manny Pacquiao. A good win but not a convincing win. I was actually there at Suncorp. I had him winning at the time. But i looked closely on footages. I can definitely see how LIVE audiences influences judges. Home court advantage is definitely a big factor. If you look closely Pacquiao landed the cleaner shots Pacquiao was past it. He couln't pull the trigger consistently in the fight. Factor in Horn's weight and height advantage, youth and home court advantage.Bottom line is he didn't look great to be honest he kinda had to fight ugly, sloppy and sorta dirty to win against an OLD PACQUIAO who hurt him. HE COULDN'T hurt the smaller older Manny Pacquiao just elbow, headbutt and wrestle him to win.

    Moving on.

Jeff Horn is in the big leagues now. You will see the Gulf of difference in class here. I am actually predicting a KO early in favor of Mr. Bud Crawford. I don't think this will go long.

I think they are talking about the quality of opposition.

Yes, and that is subjective but one helpful way to abstract the quality of a fighter's opposition is to look at, if they have a positive (or even undefeated record), how good was their opposition in turn - ie whether or not the opponents' respective opponents were all tomato cans of whom you've never heard. Klimov, Gamboa, Postol, Indongo and Horn between them have a handful of decent names conquered and tons of victories collectively over B grade types proving that none of them (with the possible exception of Indongo, who got severely overrated for a brief time IMO by catching the right people at the right time) had too much of a padded zero.

No one really but he is still a very talented fighter who can potentially beat anyone at his weight. Having said that, I think he is overrated. We won't know until he fights some elites.

I wouldn't say by a mile. GGG's had more depth but Crawford's is ahead, I agree
