I don't follow the business side of boxing much. I don't pretend to know a lot about it. As far as I can tell, Haymon is a "manager" who is actually a promoter, who is actually a fight fixer?

It's all very murky to me.

    Enlighten me, boxing scholars.

Actually, you seem to know exactly what's what. No one knows much about him. I was hoping Kathy Duva was going to really shed light on it, but even she is in the dark, so we don't stand a chance of knowing the truth

On top of all that, he always attempted to defraud beyonce with her own father. I can't if remember the trial is on going or is done. Nice guy.

He's the sleazy black right hand man to all the white Mr. Bigs, in every Blaxploitation film from the 1970's.

I'm looking for detail on how long he's been in the boxing business, his background etc.

Seemed to come out of nowhere.

Al Haymon is a former Music Promoter who has promoted concerts for just about every major R&B performer in the USA.

He entered into boxing via his management of the past great boxer, Vernon Forest and has since succeeded in signing many major deals to act as Media and career advisor for many of the sport of boxings major talents.

Al Haymon's place in boxing is what can truly be called, a work in progress.
Although currently listed as an advisor, it is apparent that this is just the beginning of Haymon's role in the sport.
From all indications, in the near future Haymon may possible transition from advisor to major promoters of boxing events.
With his close ties to Floyd Mayweather, Bernard Hopkins and every other major talent in the sport, it is very possible that Al Haymon will become the universally acknowledged, most influencial person in the sport of boxing.
