Can someone explain Steve Farhood's scoring?

There's nothing wrong with Farhood's card last night. He gave Broner 4 rounds right? Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Jeeze, people certainly keep their personal feelings about these fighters close to the chest when scoring their fights. Expected things to go down differently from this board.

 

I dislike Porter and Broner equally. I didn't find what Porter did most of the night all that effective (as usual) - but even so, there wasn't a round in the first eleven where you can make all that strong a case for Broner. I remember there being one after which I thought "okay, that was kinda sorta relatively close" but otherwise he was just getting dusted on the body and hit with stray head shots in between Porter's wild rabbit punches, very gun-shy, keeping his counters to a minimum, and clinching a lot. :conf

There was no three minute frame you can point to and say "Broner dominated at least two minutes of that with clean effective work".

 

His 118-110 was ludicrous & anyone that really appreciates the sport knows this. I could understand Morretti a vegas lackey scoring that way but Farhood???
I knew Steve Farhood when he was editor of THE RING mag, before it was ruined by Oscar & GBP. I chatted with him many times & we almost always agreed on scorecards.
I tend to agree with the OP he seems to have sold out or something he is not the man he was. He was always a nice guy

 

Look idiot No one has ever claimed abuffy is a boxing expert least of all her. She loves the sport studies it & has a sound knowledge of it. Its a pity you don't take the time to learn something about the sport yourself maybe then you wouldn't be the laughing stock of the forum that you are now & some people might stop laughing at you
Back to abuffy In the very unlikely case she was really a man pretending to be female why would that make you so mad at her???? What difference would it make?? I know ?? Its because she understands the sport & can post her own very readable opinions while all you can do is act like an idiot worshipping Floyd & posting GARBAGE!!

This is where you lose credibility....118-110 was ludicrous for May-Pac???

The objectively right scorecard was 117-111, I tried to give Pac any close rounds, so I had it 116-112. But calling a scorecard ludicrous because it's one round off is very strange.

 

I had one early round for Broner, and round 12 for him obviously. But Broner also had a couple decent rounds in the middle where he temporarily stopped Porter's momentum.

I mean, no question Porter won...but it wasn't dominance from bell to bell.

I judged it impartially & I scored the fight 115-113 at best to Floyd a draw was acceptable even . How in the hack does anyone win a fight 118-110 or 117-111 when all they do is run and hold like a limpet. When did Floyd EVER go on the offensive?? Never not even against a basically one armed seriously hurt fighter. Heck even Floyd Sr was screaming " Why are you fighting scared Floyd he's going to beat you""

Giving Pac 5 or 6 rounds is just nonsensical, sorry.

Pac landed much less punches, and most of those punches weren't close to being clean.

Mayweather landed more and the much cleaner punches.....I'm sorry, but anybody who actually thought May-Pac was close clearly let their personal feelings get in the way. Not saying you gotta be a Mayweather fan by any means, but let's keep the person and the boxer separate.

I agree. This PBC **** makes me think all the commentators/judges/refs are bought off. One of the most corrupt farces boxing has ever seen.
