But then again, Commissions rule. If the Commission allows it, it allows it. If it doesn't, it doesn't.

In the past, fighting professionally way below the limit has always been allowed.

Why do you keep saying that "over" doesn't mean anything, that "it's just the weight classes". You have to be in a weight class to fight in it. And it doesn't mean "if only one fighter is over 195lbs then there is no weight difference limit" - that wouldn't even fit in with the rest of the table, would it? That would make a dangerous anomaly. Your point about "exceed" doesn't make sense - it's a difference we're talking about - your example only works for one division.

EDIT: I'm wrong about the first two sentences above - it seems the Texas Athletic Commission didn't even have to make an exception in this case:

    g) Weight Divisions. The weight classes for boxing and kickboxing contests or exhibitions are shown in paragraphs (1) – (15). A contestant in a weight class may participate in a bout with a contestant in an adjacent weight class so long as their weight difference falls within the weight allowance shown in subsection (d) for the weight of the contestant weighing the least.

Again from the TAC site - http://www.license.state.tx.us/sports/sportsrules.htm#61105

The bold part dispels your single example.

I know - I was just debating a guy who thinks a minimumweight can technically fight a heavyweight.

I am in nobody's band wagon, but if you want to come in light and fight for somebody's belt at jr.middleweight no problem.however don't force the fighter who is already at jr.middleweight to shred pounds and come in lighter and then beat him and claim the title for that weight class.

First requirement - it should be vacant.

Second requirement - either combatants can fight in those weights.

third requirement - both fighters should be ranked in that division:lol::lol:

fourth requirement (THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE) - someone should pay the sanctioning fee.

    What is there to explain?

Belts are dime a dozen. Want to buy one?

This catch weight fights are good but they shouldn't be for the title if both guys are under weight for the weight division title they are fighting for. For example margarito he is loosing crucial pounds because they are muscle pounds not fat this is considered muscle atrophy which is not good for a human body to do. Now if it was chris arreola then no problem there because the pounds he is going to loose to make the catch weight are nothing but fat. That is a very big advantage for pacquiao right there.

Because the sanctioning bodies have all been compromised and put their own personal gain before operational integrity.

my problem is this if you fighting for a 154 title then you weigh whatever under that limit but let the other man weigh at his natural weight

stfu you ****ing crank, i asked for a discussion, not you trying to be clever, judging by your avatar your obviously up his arse. and if you cant see that making somebody fight for a 154 belt at 150lb whos a disgraced fighter who basically doesnt have a say in it. both under the same promotion, is clearly ****ing favouring manny. and learn to understand the rules. did i say he was breaking them? i just wanted light shedding on how this is going about and how hes getting away with it. get your head out his arse. and your own you little computer geek. and shut up

I'll explain that to you if you explain to me how Sergio Martinez was WBC light middleweight champion for a year despite never once in his career having fought in a bout where the WBC light middleweight belt was on the line.

The only people who continue to have a problem with Pac's weight are Floyd fans. And the reason they can't quite get this figured out is, as I've maintained all along, they aren't really boxing fans at all, and don't know jack about the sport outside of Fraud.
