there's a new promoter by the name of al haymon....dude is the greatest thing since mike tyson's string of one round kos. he has a buncha TOP fighters facing off on spike, nbc, etc...he's done it by showing the networks that quality matchups can be very profitable for the networks....by putting together fights like berto-lopez, broner-molina, thurman-guerrero and garcia-peterson, and highliting guys like danny jacobs and anthony dirrell he has revolutionized boxing...

NBC, CBS, Spike TV, Espn FNF's, format is poised to be changed. Haymon is making gigantic moves, I think this is a ploy to create a league ala UFC vs. the rest of MMA

If Haymon does this, he will reduce his fighters status to that of BKB MW Champion Gabriel Rosada.

Nobody will consider his titlists worth a squirt of urine.

And how long will his fighters continue making short $$$ while GGG and Kovalev and Klitschko are earning 3-10 mil/fight, and Cotto and Ward getting 8mil+/fight.

I actually LIKE what Hayman is doing by showcasing solid fighters in semi-competitive matchups, but hiding his guys from the real competition is only going to break him or get him killed.:think

They can only keep up this quality level for a few months and that's debatable, sooner or later they will run out of good fights, not that I really consider any of these fights top tier anyway other than Thurman Guerrero and Lee Quillin, and we'll be being force fed a s***-ton of Garcia Salka mismatches in the near future.

I applaud Haymon for getting boxing on network TV but I do think this has the potential to be a major backfire as well. The UFC is synonymous with MMA, it's interchangeable. UFC is the reason for MMA is what it is, the sport built around them. I think Haymon is trying to do it backwards, there is already an infrastructure of boxing and it seems he's trying to bypass it. I think it would be great if he included the major promoters, boxing would benefit, but clearly that doesn't look like it will happen

He has enough fighters to last for a while but how long until there is no interest in the matchups between his fighters? It'll be like a Top Rank-and-welterweight sort of issue. Hopefully the networks get involved and Haymon will let fighters he doesn't manage square off with those he does more than just once a blue moon.

Either way, for now, it's only a good thing for fans.
