Can someone explain to me why people rate Usyk above Mayweather & Pacquiao ?

Holyfield never actually failed a test though so we don't know for certain at what point in his career he used PEDs other than guess work.

Common sense tells us he definitely did use PEDs with the evidence we know and just by using your own two eyes.

But again at what point do you start putting an asterisk over his performances ? It's just guess work.

My personal view is that between 1993-1997 is probably the obvious timeline Holyfield really started using PEDs based on his increased muscle mass and body transformation.

But I would also estimate alot of Heavyweights in the last 30 years or so were on some type of gear.

I understand what you're saying though and point taken so let's forget Holyfield.

As said, as great a fighter and entertaining warrior as he was, he was a walking pharmacy and even though he didn't officially fail a test he is the poster boy for steroids and PEDs and it would be beyond comical for anyone to even try to deny he was jacked to the nines given everything we know about the ''Evan Fields'' incident and all the other red flags.

Over all of them. We're not talking about possible cross contamination or trace amounts of one substance he was juiced to high heaven on a whole cocktail of the hard stuff

Maybe so but, again, when fans are wowing at lab creations who fought in eras with virtually zero to zero drug testing it's important to remind themselves they're looking at heavily artificially enhanced fighters and they also need to remind themselves of this when comparing them to clean fighters too who are undergoing stringent testing.

    No problem

    Thanks, likewise.

Despite what I've said here, I was actually a fan of Holyfield and I loved watching him fight. He was very entertaining and a grade A warrior. But by god was he juiced to high heaven

    Recency bias

Whenever I think of Floyd I just think of a semi literate hood rat who worships money, with the personality of a tin of beans and someone who went to Israel and was dancing like a little circus ****** with the IDF for a few shekels.

Manny is also someone who has blown so much money that he has to fight exhibitions to make an income.

Usyk is fresh in their mind. Today's fans are willing to give any and everyone a GOAT label simply because they are the most recent to accomplish something.

A couple years ago Tank fought Ryan....stopped him, everyone said that Tank was the face of boxing. A couple months later, Canelo beats Ryder.....then we hear him being called the face of boxing.. Couple months later Inoue stops Fulton and the "face of boxing" chant is active in small samples, only for 72 hours later, Crawford becomes the first male to be undisputed in 2 divisions after stopping Spence......Face of Boxing yet again..... then Canelo beats Charlo followed by Inoue become undisputed in a 2nd division........and on and on and on.......

Point is fans love to make silly comparisons, throw out silly labels, and profess silly opinions on these fighters legacies. Normally the most recent GREAT will get the upper hand until an older fans doesn't like them being ranked above their favorite fighter of another era.....

All of it is a matter of vantage point, opinion, and preference.........All fun really.

Sure but unfortunately his extremely thin resume and many poor performances have to count when assessing Usyks win if we are going to be objective. The Wlad win and Wilder wins have not aged well with Wlad subsequently losing to Joshua who has been kayoes by Ruiz and Dubois and Wilder failing to beat top contenders and losing when he tried stepping up in competition.

We have to rely on guesswork and speculation to a degree I'm not comfortable with. What would Furys record look like if he fought more quality opponents? We can't know.

Imagine if Alvarez resume consisted of Trout Cotto and Khan? It would be hard to know how much credit to give Mayweather

I don’t know anyone who rates him above Floyd. As for Pacquiao his many losses and the fact he was knocked out out 3 times and losing to the likes of Jeff Horn might have something to do with it.

To be honest I think they were always used even before hand. Of course I would imagine the quality of them is better now. While testing today still isn't good it's probably harder to get away with it than 50 years ago.

Cos of the weight, pure and simple. Doing it at hw will always be considered a better achievement than any other weight. The people prefer the heavyweights.
