Can someone explain why Ray Austin gets eliminator shots, but not David Tua?

    I mean what the **** has Austin done that Tua hasn't?

    I know Tua isn't what he was, and looked terrible over last summer, but on paper the man hasn't lost since 2001, and cant get a eliminator spot to save his boxing life.

    But you got guys like Austin, who's crowing achievment was getting destroyed by Wlad in 2, then tkos the corpse of Golota has a tough time decisioning a can, then bam, another eliminator.

    Am I missing something?

    So, my question stands, why do you guys think Tua hasn't gotten a eliminator in forever? Because lets face it, until Tua loses on paper again, I'm sure this argument can't sound too crazy, given the current HW scene.

    Is Austin still with Don King?

    Being with Don King can do wonders in terms of title opportunities for heavyweights.

    I got the point after this thread was completely ignored until your post saying that.

    It's not so much about the fighters, as it is the fights one is getting, and the other isn't really.

    This thread fails I guess.

    I know, it's not about what he has left.

    Austin isn't exactly Ali, and beating good fighters, but he seems to keep getting eliminators after doing nothing to deserve one.

    After thinking about it, I think Austin is around the right corrupt people to be around to get himself into shots at belts he doesn't deserve.

    My educated guess would say Tua does'nt seek these eliminator opportunities.

    ........Tua has been fighting journeyman types for years.

    I think Tua is just content to take home what he can fighting 3rd tier fighters.

    That is a promoter and manager thing.

    If the manager doesn't push the promoter to get a fight then Tua won't get it.

    Tua wants none of it. All Tua has done since his fraudulent "return" is fight bums and tomato cans on PPV. Did he have a draw with Barrett?, and that's Barrett AFTER losses to Haye, Solis and Ustinov all in a row. All champions out there would destroy David Tua, Klitschkos lay him out COLD(I don't care how great his chin was a decade ago, this is today and he's horrible) and Haye could knock his ass out too. His return has done nothing but expose him as a joke.

    Because Ray Austin is **** and Don King owns him. Wlad fighting Ray Austin was hilarious. How the hell did Austin get a title shot? Because Wlad will only fight people he knows cant beat him.

    The Rain MAN! Cause he got mad skillz. No seriously though, I been wondering that myself, his 2nd round loss was so pathetic however his chances should of ended after that.

    Him vs. Solis was a JOKE. Ray Austin and Don King are a match made it heaven.
