vs. Khan. I sure didn't see 6. 5 at the MOST. It seems like Peterson is a stand up guy and classy(unlike Khan) but he still lost the most rounds.
well he had two deductions one was definitely a 10-8 the 12th was probably not 10-8 but if it was thats huge he won a decent amount between the deduction and the 11th he won one of the rounds between 3-5 its close
1. Khan 10-8 2. Khan 10-9 3. Peterson 10-9 4. Peterson 10-9 5. Khan 10-9 6. Khan 10-9 7. Peterson 10-8 8. Peterson 10-9 9. Khan 10-9 10. Peterson 10-9 11. Peterson 10-9 12. Even 9-9 113-112 Peterson. 11 was the swing round for me. I thought this one was relatively easy to score. Khan clearly won rounds 1-2 Peterson clearly won rounds 3-4 (I can live with 4 going to Khan, but it would definitely take a strong argument) Khan clearly won rounds 5-6 Peterson clearly won rounds 7-8 Khan clearly won round 9 Peterson clearly won round 10 Round 11 was the closest round of the fight, in my opinion. I thought it was very even, but I gave it to Peterson specifically because he had that dogged determination and fought like he really wanted the championship, whereas Khan fought like he was trying to buy time and get the fight over with. Round 12 was clearly won by Khan, but the point deduction makes it an even round. Thus, the obvious score is 113-112 for either fighter depending on how you score the 11th; however, if you reach, you could give Khan round 4. That would end with a 114-111 score for Khan. All that being said, I'm very glad Peterson won this fight. I hope he wins the rematch to culminate a reality check for Khan and his arrogance. Peterson is a great guy, a great fighter, and a very determined individual.
How do you clearly win a round when one guy outlands you and throws 30 more punches..I'm talking round 10.
He clearly won 3,4,7,8, (round 10 he won but not as clearly) 11 was up for grabs and could go either way. 12 was even because of the deduction. Khan clearly won 1,2,5,6 (he won round 9 but not as clearly as the rest)
I gave him 3, 4, 7, 8, 10, 11. Had it 113-112 Peterson. I wouldn't have complained anywhere from 114-111 Khan to 114-111 Peterson though. There were quite a few rounds where Khan landed more shots and had better ring generalship, but Peterson landed the telling punches. About 3 rounds I could have seen go either way. And yeah, the referee job sucked, but he sucked both ways IMO. In a rematch, I think I'd still favor Khan, but over and over again Khan proves that he can't stick to a gameplan, and that's his biggest downfall. On talent and skill, Khan should have won, but for the second time in three fights he went out there and fought just about the worst tactical fight he could have fought. I hate to say it, but I'm thinking he might do better with a different trainer who can help him better take advantage of his speed and length.
Amir first 10 8 10 9 9 10 9 10 10 9 10 9 8 10 9 10 10 9 close 10 9 9 10 9 9 close 113 112 i think i pretty much had it as jim watt had it except the last round. 2 rounds i felt could of gone to Peterson though and could of been 114-111 Peterson and I wouldnt of grumbled
I had Khan winning 113-112 But i have no complaints about Peterson winning. Peterson's as humble as they come.
I think the key are those championship rounds. Most people seem to agree on rounds 1 through 8. Khan wins rounds 1,2,5 and 6, Peterson wins rounds 3,4,7 and 8. Once we get past 8, we run into the main reason for the differing scorecards. Rounds 9, 10 and 11 depend on what you like more -- the fast guy who throws light flurries and is always on the defensive, or the slower guy who lands the more solid looking shots, who is always on the offensive. Those three rounds seem to account for the difficulty here.
Absolutely. That's the way i see it. Although i think Peterson was hurt in round 9 (the most any fighter was hurt in the fight) so one could give that to Khan. 10 and 11 are the hardest ones. 12 is more easier to score with the deduction.
