I always hear how gamboa has kissed the canvas 6 times and all this junk, but i think most of the people that say this have not seen the fights cuz it seems like everyone is just repeating each other. As far as i been concerned he has only been knocked down once or twice!!!! that was against Darling Jimenez the same fight he was fighting with an injured hand but still the hand has nothing to do with being knocked down. let's see the knock downs so far against Dejesus it was a push dejesus got under him and pushed him and he fell it was a horrible call by the ref it wasnt even a punch, it reminds me of the push that cotto did on clottey was that ruled a kd i hope not lol against marcos ramirez it was a clean elbow to the face not even a punch so how is that considered a legitimate kd, and against roger gonzalez he lost balance and put his glove on the ground which could be a kd but it wasnt like he was actually hurt. My question is how has he been kd like 5-6 times like most people say you could maybe say 1 or maybe 2 at the most but what are people talking about?

If you repeat something often enough, it'll sooner or later become to truth.

Like Eubank knocking Calzaghe down.

cotto never got credited a kd from a push...he recorded the only kd of the fight with a stiff left jab right on the point of the chin....

He's technicaly only been knocked down 3 times. By Adailton De Jesus, Darling Jimenez and Roger Gonzalez. And one "knockdown" from an elbow to the face by Marcos Ramirez.

His defense and chin are not as good as the rest of his attributes. I can imagine a great puncher, sooner o later, knocking him out.

Gamboa to me is still a mystery he has not fought anybody who could have beaten him yet. Reminds me a bit of Andre Berto. Hard to say how good he is because there alot of questions to be asked. Gamboa can either be that aaron pryor type real agressive goes down is ok then jumps back in and ko's the guy or go down and stay down. When he fights somebody tougher we'll find out.

He's been down quite a few times. But I've yet to see him seriously hurt.

That's the bottom line. When has anybody seen Gamboa's legs in bad wobbly shape after one of these kd's? Trinidad used to get knocked down a lot too, but usually didn't look very hurt. I think these guys get too much focussed on offense and aggression sometimes and get caught off balance or by surprise but it doesn't mean they have a bad chin.

How sound this theory is will definitely get tested if Gamboa fights Lopez though. Can't wait to find out!

He's never been hurt, he always stood up in less than a second and jumps right back on his opponent.

He's like JMM a good shot will put him down but his legs are never shaky afterward and he recooperates incredibly fast.
