Can someone please tell me why there's so many Cotto haters in Eastside Forum??

I was never a Cotto hater, more of a semi-fan (been watching him fight since he was about 3-0) anyway I always expected him to lose as well. I didn't trust that he'd be able to hang with the big boys with all those defensive flaws of his. The day he turned me into a full fledged fan though was the day he smashed through Carlos Quintana. A drubbing of a good fighter like that had me convinced that this guy was the real goods.

 

What about the Mosley fight? Who did you think would win in that?
I have been a Cotto fan for a few years now but i just could not see him beating Shane. Thats when i realized there was no one that could stop him in the WW division.

I remember posting on here a while ago saying Cotto would take over WW and clean it out. Too bad PBF retired otherwise it would have meant a little more.

i agree he does get blind hate. but it depends on what part hate and love is. some say he has a great defence some say he has a dodgy defence, some say he has an iron chin others say he's bone china.as good as he is he hasnt cemented anything yet and this is the setter. this fight means he has fought the full range of world class styles (maybe a few other styles) counterpuncher, speedy inside fighter, boxer and now workrate brawler.

but when someone creates a thread on how cotto is hated then hates on proven solid boxer punchers in hopkins and mayweather jnr.

Compared to Pavlik, Calzaghe, and PBF, Cotto has very few haters on ESB.
If you really want to see completely irrational hatred for a pro boxer, start a thread praising Pauli Malinaggi:yep

 

There arent that many. You just believe there are a lot because their posts stand out the most. I believe Cotto has numerous fans on this website. And they always set the haters straight.

 

If theres a lot of people who hate Cotto, I'd be shocked. There is no reason to hate this guy, pure class.
