Can someone school me on what BJS is thinking?

I think his power is underrated, he dropped Lee heavily twice who looked about 3 weight bigger than him on fight night.

 

I want to see Andy Lee put out a challenge for GGG. He would stand more of a chance than BJS.

 

His power is not underrated at all. It is a fact that he is a light puncher - no shame in that. I am a big fan of his great skills.

As for the Lee fight: The first knockdown was a heavy one because he totally nailed the wide-open Andy perfectly, and yes Andy was hurt. The second knockdown was more of a touchdown, not a heavy knockdown.

 

Do you think? Lee is too open and doesn't have great whiskers. Don't think he'd go past 4. I think Saunders would last longer due to his boxing ability. Don't see either of them beating him though, not even close.

 

BJS horses head?

 

Despite, what we saw in Lee's last fight, he actually has a good jab that could keep GGG at bay for a while. Then you take a look at his chin, you know he can mount a challenge at least. So I don't agree with the not going past 4 rounds comment.

I think Lee poses more of a threat than BJS because of his power. He has the power to knock GGG out cold. Whereas BJS has the defense to make GGG miss and the ability to frustrate GGG with counters, but with BJS, eventually his stamina goes at some point, and because of this he would probably walked down and trapped in the ropes and stopped.

 

The problem for Billy Joe is that he is like a man walking a tightrope - sooner or late rhe will fall off. When you cant stop anyone - Every fight is a risk? A lot can go wrong in 12 rounds. Even if you are winning, the wear-and-tear aone can take a toll.
For this reason maybe in this case cashing out with a big fight against GGG or Canelo or Cotto might not be such a bad idea for Billy Joe.

 

I agree with the stamina point, I have the same opinion. But, he can beat most of the top guys apart from GGG. Canelo and Cotto are good but BJS could easily beat them on a good day.

 

Good point RE BJS' stamina, didn't really take that into account.

lee does have that huge hook, but as far as I can see Golovkin's chin is absolutely solid - plus you need to be able to land it first. One thing I will say is that Lee would have the bottle to take the fight and go out there to win as well.

I hope Lee gets back into the mix pretty soon. Seems a sound guy. his punditry is pretty good as well actually

 

Martin Murray looked good against Abraham.

 

Yep, Monroe Jr will still have a decent career I think too. Saunders is still young, I don't think a loss at this stage (especially now he has captured the belt) will affect him too badly

 

Massive respect to him if he takes it, would be against the grain in the business mad world boxing is these days.

 

Not sure if it's wise to send a gypsy a horses head. I think that will lead to him sorting out the matter through other means.

 

Martin did look decent against AA but I'm not sure if that is more to do with AA or Martin hitting top form again. Imo Martin would have been better off with another fight or 2 before challenging at Super Middle just to adjust properly to the weight. Oliver knows him better than anybody else I guess and for that reason could it not be down to AA not being the same fighter at least in their eyes and thought they could grab a belt?

I hope that martin can prove me wrong and finally get that world title because he really is a gem of a guy and works extremely hard and bar the GGG fight he really has had rotten luck when challenging for world honours!!
