Interested on his thoughts of his knockdown and how he performed and how he assesses Inoue.

Loosely translated, he said, "I'm good, real good, but as long as Inoue is around, I'll always be 2nd best".

He starts of by saying that "LA Gorda ellerbe és lá mas gran puta de ESB fórum. Passa El dia chupando lá polla de todo El mundo. És um pendejo e um maricon. Pêro basta de hablar de perdedores. Fue una gran pela, hecho lo mejor que pude pêro Inoue és El mejor de lá história solo las guarras piensan lo contrario. Viva Mexico"

    Enough said.

    - Pantera, for the third time here in Japan, this time unfortunately the victory was not in our side, but you did a great fight, you put all your heart. What did happen?

    - I am glad because, as I said before comming here, I come to fight. I dont come to play like Fulton did when he just gave the victory for free. I came to fight, as I have said from the beginning, whether he knocks me out or I knock him out. I put him on the ground in the first round when I punched him, he hugged me when he was hurt and he survived he caught me and he knocked me out, that's all. But I'm leaving japan happy because I'm satisified because I've won here twice and I have put the p4p champion on the canvas. I'm happy despite having lost. I'm going to continue training and I will be back. I will be back, it is not over.

    - What do you think about the fight?

    - Actually, I played his game. I think it was my mistake, to play his game and to fight open, not to have followed a more closed approach. But, well, he won to me and he won to me fair and square, no excuses.

    - Do you plan to stay in superbantam?

    - Yes. But if not, then I would go to 126, where I have to struggle less to make the weight and I feel stronger.

    - In the weigh in you proved that you prepared very well this fight.. (a lot of workarounds by the interviewer, actually, trying not to offend Nery with this question), they had some oponents ready to replace you.... just in case...

    - Yes, I knew they had someone to replace me, but this time I took the weigh in seriously and I said to myself that this time I was not going to fail in the weigh in or with PEDs or anything. I said, no matter if I win or lose but I will do things the right way. I made the weight by nearly 1kg, and Inoue was the one who was close to fail the weight. Well, things are like that, and here we are.

    - Let's talk about your experience here, Nery. It would not have been possible without you to fill the Tokio Dome. More than 55k people inside it. As you said, many people were on your side too. How does it make you feel?

    - Yes, I have a lot of fans, a lot of people who love me, people who cried because I lost. I don't feel bad, I feel relaxed, I feel good. I leave japan with a good feeling despite having lost. Of course that I would have loved to leave japan as the champion, it was not possible, we are going to continue trying, but I'm the mexican who came twice to japan and won twice, and then I came and I put Inoue on the canvas, something that nobody had done before. And that's all, that's what I will keep for myself. The arena was crowded, this arena was not used since 1990. 34 years closed for boxing, and they needed me to fill the arena. And I'm glad that they opened this arena, that they wanted me to open this arena, that they needed me to fill this arena. They needed me and they needed Inoue.

    - You didnt get the 3-0, but you managed to get some respect for your name.

    - I died like mexicans do. When he put me on the ground I said "I will continue, and I will continue until it's over". It was over with a knock out, it was like that, and it had to be like that.

    - What do you think that it was the key for Inoue to be the winner in this fight?

    - My defense was open. I had problems in my defense, I simply stayed open, I failed. My strategy was not the best. He has power, yes, but nothing really extraordinary. What actually happened is that he caught me with my hands down and he knocked me down. The first rounds I could resist without any problem, but actually it was my defense, my defense which is a bit sloppy.

    - Would you like to fight Inoue again?

    - Of course, I fight with him again whenever he wants. I come here (to japan) again whenever he wants. I'm here to make big fights, I'll be back, I'll improve my defense and I'll win again.

    - Are we going to watch a new Nery?

    - A new Nery, with a better defense and the same brutal power with which I put Inoue on the canvas in the first round.

    - Any message to all the mexican aficionados that recognise the great work that you have done tonight?

    - To thank them for their support. It was not possible, but it was close, and I think that I didnt do it bad because I did it like a mexican does it, we die inside the ring.

    - Congratulation on that, Nery. We hope to see you again, and in a better shape. You have all the necessary talent to get it, Nery, you have already proved it, it is not even necessary to say it. So, my people, this is Pantera Nery from Japan to Tijuana. Any message to the people from Tijuana?

    - Thank you, everybody from Tijuana. Greetings and see you soon!

I mean he did almost end him. He deserves props for it. Pantera has grown on me, I felt he quit in the figgy fight but with all the animosity towards him from Japan he went out on his shield like a true warriors

It's an accomplishment, he should hang his hat on that.

He didn’t come close to ending him at all. Inoue got up and fought back.

Piercing the absolute veil of Inoue's invincibility is most assuredly something to hang his hat on. Almost everyone knew what the eventual end to the fight was going to be....................Nery gave a solid accounting for himself before going down in flames.

    Cheers hombre
Who were these Pantera fans filling Tokyo Dome? His trainer and cousins? I could've sworn the crowd was 100% pro-Inoue.

Strange comment considering his 3 visits to the canvas, incl. the last where the ropes save him from hospitalization. Guess he don't remember nutting.

I wish someone would've asked him on how it felt going down to Inoue vs. going down to Figueroa.
