I hear people talking all the time that the rematch is @ 147, but the only things I've read are reports saying it's likely to be at a catchweight between welter and jr. middle.
I've been trying to get others in this forum to co-aberate on the weight issue myself, but it seems that boxing sites are not in tune with the weight issue of the rematch. I will say that telemundo sports, which is usually reliable, reported live from Home Depot Center after DLH's fight with Forbes, and they did'nt like what they saw from DLH against Forbes to make them believe that he could beat Mayweather.....and they were particular in pointing out that DLH did'nt look all that great at 150 lbs, it seemed to them that he was lacking snap in his shots......they went on to say that it is'nt looking good for DLH's chances againt Mayweather, in particular with the that rematch pointing at to be at the welterweight limit. Telemundo sports is the only time that I've heard or read of a report that pointed that a DLH-Mayweather fight would take place at 147 lbs.....quite frankly, I'd like to hear and see other journalist quoting the same.
I do recall larry merchant saying that delhoya was coming back to welter and it seems as though he might be able to make that weight.
Merchant said that, I think on the July card in 2007 with Margarito-Williams/Gatti-Gomez/Cintron-Matthyesse, but I'm talking about verification that the rematch is indeed taking place @ 147. Oscar's been talking about go back to welter since early 2005.
well i believe the fight was suppose 2 be for floyd's 147 lb. ring belt! therefore it wuld have to be fought at that weight.
