Only cotto can help cotto, he needs to find the motivation and determination in training to come in to the fight in great fighting shape. And then in the fight he needs to forget the last two loses and come to fight with some confidence. No matter what the trainer tells him or try to do if he doesnt buy into it or if he doesnt listen it wont make a difference. Trainers are there to motivate, educate and to supervise and make sure the boxer is doing what he's supposed to be doing. But cottos problems are in his head and heart plus his lack of dedication to boxing.

I have hung out with both. I found Cotto to be very respectful and Steward is the man. He is a wealth of knowledge with proven credentials. You can only learn with a guy like that. The key is does Cotto still have it? Vivian Harris was shot to pieces when he got a hold of him. I know what he saw in Cintron, but I knew he would never be able to correct him. I think Cotto might be different, and as far as Cotto, hes already a great fighter, he just a great offensive fighter.

No. Who has Steward helped lately? Klitschko? I don't agree in Cotto hiring Manny Stew, plus I think it could be too late to try to change Cotto's style. It could be counterproductive. Without Manny, I'd say Cotto tko Foreman in 8, with Manny it can be a close to ugly fight for Cotto.

He can help Cotto and I think they'll be fine as long as Steward doesn't change Cotto's style too much. He has a jab, all he needs to do is use it more and clinch and he should be fine.

    NO!

Stewart is not that great of a trainer. He is like Teddy Atlas.

He only does well with fighter who already have some training and those that have lots of natural advantage (Klit: Height), or natural skills (Lewis).

If Cotto wants the best trainer for his style, the best trainer would be either of the Mayweather brothers, or Nazim.

Steward is a great trainer and I think Cotto will win, because he is better than Foreman, but not because of Steward. Steward works best with tall rangy fighters who utilise their jab. Cotto is a midget for LMW, he needs someone like Roach in his corner.

Steward could turn Paul Williams into an ATG. Williams with Steward in his corner would beat FMJ.

He was a great offensive fighter down at 140 against weaker competition. Against Pac, Clottey, Mosley and Margo he has shown no greatness offensively at all.

Paul Williams can be guided to become a ATG with a trainer that can show him how to utilise his reach.
