Joe Grim was one of the most durable fighters in boxing history, noted for withstanding knockouts and horrendous punishment against the best of the best in Jack Johnson, Bob Fitzsimmons, Joe Gans. Barbados Joe Walcott, Philidelphia Jack O'Brien, Sam McVey, Jack Blackburn and Peter Maher. All gave the 'Iron Man' a horrific beating, yet he withstood knockouts against all. That being said, could Sugar Ray Robinson have been able to finish Joe Grim over a 15 round period? Robinson may not have been a heavyweight like Johnson, but he is the greatest offensive fighter to have ever lived. Robinson has to put Grim down for 10. Thoughts?
What era do they fight in? A lot of Grim's fights would have been stopped in later eras. In his own time, I think Robby stops him due to cuts/accumulation.
Grim's era, no TKO allowed. I'll edit the OG post to specify that. He has to put Grim down for the count.
In a six rounder, if the referee will let Grim continue even if he's KD'd a dozen times and his face is hanging off, provided he can still stand upright, then he'd probably last the distance. I actually still think Robby would KO him over a longer distance. Almost all the fights where Grim survived beatings from the likes of Johnson and Fitz were over six rounds.
