Can Tavoris Cloud dethrone Chad Dawson?

    I was just on BoxRec and noticed Tavoris Cloud who is ranked no.1 in the IBF's rankings after knocking out Julio Cesar Gonzalez handing him his first knockout loss which on paper looks impressive as he has been in with Zsolt Erdei, Clinton Woods twice and Roy Jones Jr. But is his knockout power enough to beat Dawson who has had questions about his defence? What are your views?

    He was promised the winner of Tarver vs Dawson, However his chin has not really been tested he needs a fighter that he could beat and has a solid chin, I suggest Reggie Johnson

    Its a possibility but Cloud is not there right now. Maybe in 2 years...

    is still kind of early to say for cloud but he is looking pretty good.

    Cloud has great power and inside fighting combinations, but he would get outboxed. He is a superb puncher, but doesnt have the experience against skilled enough boxers to beat Dawson at this point.

    umm..........

    Tavoris was in with Jose Luis Herrera.. who happens to be a puncher... I only got to see TAvoris Cloud once and that was against Gonzales... He is EXPLOSIVE.... A guy that you want to see... With that said, Dawson/Cloud matchup would be fun to watch... Dawson would more than likely outbox him, but Cloud's chances of KO'ing Dawson are modest at worst...

    Can he dethrone Chad~?? Yes
    Will he~?? Not sure...

    You wont have to worry about it coz chad will probably bin and run anyway, or go on another camping trip.


    1 or 2 more fights he'll be ready for Dawson, but I doubt Chad will go anywhere near him.

    No, he needs a few more fights to get more experience with top level guys before going in with people like Tarver and Dawson.
