Probably but only because Haymon and Arum won't let their big stars anywhere near The Special One because he'd chew them up and spit them out. :nod
Wrong!!! Not even a special K hater, I've gone to like him a bit more than I used to. But he's no elite level talent, he ain't no Money May man. !!!! I can see him being a title holder, possibly getting to the level of Calzaghe (Who I do like) but that's about it. Nothing elite.
You can see him being a title holder.... really going out on a limp there aren't you because he already is one. I could also see him getting to the level of 'Zaggers: -First ballot Hall of Famer -Recognized as the best ever in his weight class -Record number of title successful defenses -Unifies all the belts -Lineal champ in two divisons -The human womb not being capable of making someone that can defeat him. deal
Oh I mean title holder in maybe 1 more weight class Zags is a top 80 ATG? Maybe.. He's great but he'll never be at the level of a SRR, Mr.Mayweather not even close. Anyways, Brook might reach that level, but we'll have to wait and see!!! :thumbsup
Anyway, back to Crawford. How far to you see him going? Do you think he needs more personality. He's too Ward and not enough Mayweather for me, even if he's a future p4p number 1.
To be entirely honest, I have suspects about his chin. I think he'll be top 5, not #1. He just doesn't have those elite qualities that May/Pac/Lennox/Pernell/FAB 4 showed.
Maybe, he did seem to get hurt by Gamboa, although did you see that video on how much he was draining himself to make Lightweight?
Yes and there were speculations about him being knocked out by Gary Russell Jr in a street fight or something. Crawford is a great talent no doubt, but I really don't see p4p #1 eliteness in that man. Just don't.
Not unless he makes some changes to both his personality and location. The reality is that boxing really just isn't a mainstream sport, no matter how some of us fans wish it to be. Being a good or even excellent fighter doesn't draw many fans beyond the hardcore, just ask Ward or Rigondeaux. Being a ppv star means being bigger than boxing at this point. You need to have appeal outside the ring, celebrity endorsements, sponsors (beyond just small fitness apparel) and commercial ads. And of course a legion of hardcore fans to watch your fights. The last one is the easiest to get (or hardest), you just have to win and be a true champion....but it also is the one that brings in the less viewers. Ultimately I doubt Crawford gets more than a few ppv events. He will no doubt make decent money and if he truely dominates in the sport, will be a HOF. But to start making the millions like Money or Pac....its gonna take some serious work.
To be honest I think he is a bit screwed being with Arum. Who's he got as potential opponents that are easy fights to make? Jessie Vargas? Khabib Allakhveridev? If he was with Haymon, you could match him with Broner, Garcia, Peterson- all fights I'd pick him to win and unlike Varags and co would raise his profile.
he needs a big fight againts a name!! he still a solid fighter, but nothing else till now we have wins againts gamboa and dulorme !!both good wins but fighters with shacky chins
