    Whitaker, and quite clearly IMO.

Jones and Chavez could be argued either way.

Pernell Whitaker EASILY the most complete fighter since 1983..
Even his fight with Tito left me speechless and in awe of his abilities. The guy's boxing brain is superior:good

I hope BHOP shows this tenacity if he's outgunned and fight like a warrior.

Roy Jones Jr out of the fighters I've seen enough of to judge. Haven't seen enough of Sweet Pea to tell if he was any better, although the results of this poll do seem to suggest he might well have been. I've been working through fighters I missed first time round, have gone through JCC and RJJ, so I'll track down some Sweet Pea fights to find out for myself.

That is false. What he has done doesn't stack up to Jimmy Wilde, Jem Driscoll, and Freddie Welsh. But this is Calzaghe arguing, which isn't allowed in the thread.

    1. Roy Jones
    2. Pernell Whitaker
    3. Floyd Mayweather

Calzaghe can get into the discussion if he fights and beats Pavlik or Dawson.

    Roy Jones Junior.

And I know we all have our biases, but I don't think it's even close.

If Roy had retired after Ruiz, would this thread even exist ?

    :good

It's gotta be Roy for me, too. Winning belts from Middleweight up to Heavyweight? That means a hell of alot more to me than the couple of fighters he could've fought, but didn't.
