After hearing people talk about how great Canelo was v Kov just because he landed some more powerful shots despite Kov controlling him for most of that fight easily, and guessing the judges had Canelo ahead, is there a case for saying their is corruption surrounding Canelo just like their was corruption involved in Carnera`s rigged matches? I personally don`t think it`s corruption I just think people favour the bigger name, like how Ali got the nod in the third bout v Norton.
No corruption. Canelo did not control the fight to his will and was not gloriously aggressive, but he had the best defense and landed the hardest punches. One judge had it even after 10 rounds. Two had Canelo ahead by 2 rounds. The championship rounds were about to be the decisive factor, but Kovalev got dramatically KOed. I don't see any corruption here.
I disagree, it is corruption. When Canelo fought Floyd, Floyd was the big name and Canelo got a 114-114 card despite being schooled.
I dont think Canelo vs Kovalev was a fixed as some people are saying but the fact in these times are organized fights with boxers having little time to prepare is not a good sign for boxing. Besides it should be noted there has always been corruption in boxing but today it's disguised very well.
Not corruption, but they were biased towards the bigger name, Canelo`s defense wasn`t better than Kov`s who`s ability to move his head off the center line after punching was stopping Canelo from landing his counter hook.
