No one at 168 is beating Andre Ward any time soon. He's too seasoned, too skilled and too adaptable.

Carl Froch has faced top level competetion in his last 6 fights, do Calzaghe have 6 back-to-back opponents that are better than: Pascal-Taylor-Dirrell-Kessler-Abraham-Johnson... Hmm lets see.. No....:good.

Froch has a great chance to beat ward but the fight must be outside of CA.

I personally do not care where the fighters come from. Froch will have a shot at Ward and should come up short. It will be an interesting fight nonetheless. Froch is a warrior but I have the feeling that Ward will delivered his best performance ever by stopping Froch late. Froch says that Ward is not strong but I doubt he believes that. He will be careful in there I'm sure.
Then let's see Bute against Kessler with the winner fighting the winner of Froch vs Ward. Those fighters want to prove themselves and they will fight each other until there is only 1 guy at the top.

I think Ward and Froch are roughly on par at this stage and would BOTH beat calzaghe if he came out of retirement. Wish people would stop bringing nationality into it tho because in this thread alone you have it from both sides. You have people telling the brits to get serious when saying calzaghe would beat ward then in their next sentence they completly dismiss Froch ect. I really do think we are mixing up nationality with strong loyalty to certain fighters.

Froch doesn´t have the tools to pick apart Wards destructive boxing. UD for Ward coming up, with Froch calling it a robbery.

I'm English and it bothers me when posters say all the British rate Calzaghe too highly. I know loads of people over here who don't rate him that highly, me included. Fine boxer, but not an ATG. It's annoying when all Brits get tarred with the same brush. Our media has a lot to answer for.

LOL "Destructive boxing" you mean headbutts right?

Froch will win this, as long as its outside Oakland.

For all that is good for boxing Ward has to lose vs Froch

The super six was supposed to help boxing but instead its hurting it.

    Showtime gives Ward :-

All his fights in his hometown
    Holding and Headbutting against Kessler
A useless fighter in Allan Green
An outside tourny fight against Sakio Bika
Hometown Judges to secure a points win
Hometown Referee to make sure he isnt outboxed/KO'd
Corrupt the points system to allow him to fight abraham (coming off 2 losses)

And now we have to wait to see what the next load of bollocks is going to be

Froch on the other hand :-

Close Decision against a negative fighter in Dirrell in UK - Only favour hes had
Close Decision loss to Kessler in denmark (no shame i thought Kessler won)
Complete shutout for the vacant WBC against Abraham Away (Beat him more decisively than Ward)
Comfortable Decision against Johnson in the USwho KO'd Green in (which Ward Couldnt do)

Yet Ward is the favourite to win?

Seriously Froch winning is Good for boxing

ward is very good. right now i dont think anyone in the world can touch him. including if calzaghe came back. he is in his prime and his is just too damn technically sound.

Ward being adaptable is becoming a myth. I saw him fight pretty much the same way against his last four opponents. When you fight Green and Bika the same way, you may not be so adaptable. Especially when you fight Bika exactly the contrary of what you should do.

We can see Ward's patterns now and a good coach will be able to make a plan to counter his style.
