Can the lt.MW and MW titles be on the line at a catchweight below 154?

Lets say Martinez isnt worried about legacy and just wants to make as much money as he can and Pac/Mayweather both want to fight him at a catchweight of say 150lbs with the lt.middleweight and middleweight titles on the line which he would gladly accept.

    Legal?

Leonard vs Lalonde was for both the supermiddle and lt.hw title

Sure they can. The weight limit is 160 lbs. They can weigh anything under that and it can be for the belt. But why have that fight you mentioned? That would be a cheap and very scrutinized way for Pac to win a middlweight belt.

Same for Floyd. If he fought Martinez at 154 or 150 for the 160 title, people would criticize him aswell.

It is as legal as it is cheap. If Floyd or Pac dream of doing this, I make Sergio get the JMW lineal title as well before the fight. All he needs is a fight with deadbeat Spinks. Just think of that in terms of legacy. Pac could go from his record 4 lineal titles to 7 with just 2 fights. He would also be the lineal in 3 or 4 classes at once. PBF would match Pac's lineal title count and enhance his legacy big time. He would be relevant from 130 to 160.

I hope these fantasy fights never happen. They are legal and all, but at that point what are these people really fighting for? Just cheating their way to belts for a legacy that to me will be tainted.

If they fought at the 154lb limit I'd have no problem with it. Sergio shouldn't have to drain down to a weight that he's not comfortable at though.

It'd be garbage for both of them. If Martinez is still comfortable at 154lbs, I'd support it for either Floyd vs. Pacquiao. At 150lbs I'd be against the fight for both of them. I hate catchweights that drain fighters. I don't give credit for that.

I like how you added Mayweather in this. We all know you're thinking of a cheap way for pac to make another piece of history. Floyd has never needed to win a belt at a catchweight.

In my opinion catch weights are bull****. I hate them like I hate rye bread or skim milk. It's supremely bland way to win a title. The name of the game is boxing not politics. If PAC or may wants to beat Martinez at 154 for the lt. titles than that's legit. You throw in the middle weight title then we have a circus on our hands.

It would be a disgrace to put MW title up below 154

Ivan Calderon and Vic Darchinyan could fight for the light middleweight and/or middlweight title, assuming one of them somehow already held it.

You need to be under 154 or 160 to fight for either title, respectively.

There's no minimum per weight class.
