Look for a prospect who is athletic like Chambers but about 6'5" or 6'6" in height . . . he's gonna be the best chance if you found one. :yep

short answer to title is yes...of course we could.

the majority of our athletes that would campaign at hw are in other sports/discplines. if we could somehow catch them at an early age and get them into boxing or at least exposed to it, that may do the trick. instead, youngsters are bombarded w/ media about football, baseball, basketball, etc...of course ppv doesnt help boxing either

America's dominance of the heavyweight division was when the republics of the former Soviet Union are have no professional heavyweight boxers yet. now they have a lot, and they are bigger, more athletic and hungrier for recognition. I think it will be difficult now for the US to regain that stature.

I hope so for the sake of the game but I can't see it. The talent pool is shrinking as has already been mentioned other sports are much more appealing to 'big men' in the States, and now there's the threat of MMA to contend with.

If you look at the amateurs for example, the US prospects don't appear to be coming through and many of the top US heavies have only come to Boxing late after trying their hand at other sports.

The main advantage that the States do have however is that the standard of training is so much better there as opposed to in Eastern Europe so that what little fighters do come through at least they will be well versed in the finer points of the sweet science.

Things move in cycles, and in good time the US may gain a stronghold in the division, Chambers is a good solid guy and Arreola is not at all bad , but not as reliable as the philadelphian.. I do like the sons of past champs, Mike Hunter Jr (Bounty Hunters son)
Elijah McCall (Oliver's son) Hasim Rahman jr (Rocks son) Monk Foreman (GF's son) all gonna be makin waves in 3 to 4 years.... Hunter and Elijah especially , they are getting to a solid stage in thier development , Mike looks like a special kid in the making..
