Pro boxing needs the USA, and its money,
the trouble is the amercian media, they went on a "seek and destory" attack, against boxing. a lot of US. fans would like to see more boxing.
but the big shots in the media don't want to show it now..

When did Chagaev or Povetkin beat a Klitchko?
What about Sultan Ibragimov and Albert Sosnowski?

Wow Americans been dominating HW boxing since the days of Jack Johnson. Only the last couple of years have a few eastern european fighters been on the map. Also, the best U.S. HW's are playing other sports.

Of course we can. The odds of that happening in the near future would be improved if the infrastructure of our amateur program improved, but there's always the chance for a "freak" who could come up out of nowhere. Take out the Klitschkos, and Ukrainian heavyweight boxing doesn't look near as good. Or Lewis with British HW boxing, or Tyson for our HW boxing. The cool thing about outliers like that...it only takes one guy. The ones who can handle the pressure that comes with that are rare, but that's what makes them great.

ABOLISH AMERICAN FOOTBALL, so athletes with sheer size will hav no option but try boxing

  11. But of course, they were only allowed to turn pro after the fall of brutal communism back in 89. Imagine what the HW scene could have been like if almost all of Europa had not have been inslaved to communism?

I wonder just how much can be attributed to tjhe lack of well seasoned trainers in the US of A?? who will we be reading about in 20 years time???

As mentioned earlier, the fall of the communist regimes have lead to a greater involvement in the pro game for these countries.

but everything has a cycle. just like the tide. nothing lasts forever

were the easten euros fighting then? lets take the 20's onwards, part of that time the mafia controlled the belt and wouldnt allow it to leave the country, lets say a brit fighter had a title shot in 1930...he has to take a boat journey for weeks across the atlantic, fight in some foreign land with corrupt judges....then go all the way home the way he got their, the reason the USA is nothing special now is because the sport is truly global...+ travelling is alot easier, america did not get pussified over night.

Deontay Wilder? He won Bronze in Beijing after winning two bouts against weak fighters. One from Algeria where he was lucky to escape with a tie breaker. The first decent fighter he faced tooled him 8-1 in the semi finals.

I know this means little because he was a relative beginner but claiming he will have a title in less than two years is insane.

Maybe he should have played football, then he would have been a sure thing heavyweight champ.:hey
