Light Heavy. I think with fair judges he can beat Zsolt Erdei, Campillo, and Brahmer. Light heavyweight is one of the poorest division out there right now. You got no real good names, just Hopkins, and even he himself doesn't fight at light heavyweight, hes feeding on middle/super middleweights. Roy Jones defiantly has a shot at the WBO and WBA belts in this division.
With all the belts around he could win another one. Could he beat the Klitchkos is another story. Probably not, but it would be interesting.
There's more chance that my dick will become the next Pope of Rome, than James Toney making LHW. The next time James weighs 175, he will have been in his grave. For about two years.
Given the current state of the division, anyone could practically win a belt. Brewster did with limmited talent, Maskaev did with a glass chin, and we can't forget Briggs winning it a few years back with horrible stamina. We also have a belt holder now that almost lost to a 46 yearold Holyfield, an even worse version of the Holyfield Toney knocked out back in 03. The answer is yes, Toney can win a belt. He was heartbeat away from winning the belt off of Ruiz back in 05, but the steroids he took to repair his shoulder showed up on the test.
He is 40 and each time out the last couple of fights he as looked worse and worse. The poor conditioning and age has ended him really. He may still want to do things but his body wont let em.
toney still got his slickness into his 40s which shows how talented that dude was, and he can still outbox some fighters, but i wish we'd call it a day
