One of the best examples you'll ever see of how having the right promoter makes all the difference in the world in professional boxing. I give Ruiz props, though, for coming back from that devastating KO. Some guys would have just hung it up after a loss like that. As far as Tua winning a title, I guess he always has a punchers chance if someone gets careless, but he's been so inactive and inconsistent for so long, it's hard to have a lot of confidence in him.
First of all he never held a title but if the likes of Maskiev and Briggs can do it than anything is possible, just goes to show how bad the HW division is.
He's about to step it back up. Fighting someone in the next couple of months who is just a tune up/rust break up and then he's down to fight the winner of Chazz Witherspoon vs Chris Arreola. That is a step up in competition and could put him back in the title mix.
If he handles the Arreola Wither winner pretty convincingly, I think Tua's stock will rise pretty quickly. A powerhouse puncher like him can KO a good opponent and with one impressive win, get boxing fans excited and rallying behind him, all over again. I hope Tua wins his next couple of fights in dramatic fashion, so Tua can be back in demand enough to get a big fight.
