After beating Glowacki he is the #1 cruiserweight, but he's 29.
There are a lot of young lions in the division (Gassiev/Nielsen/Laggoune).
I would like to see a fight against Bellew, but I think Usyk will beat him easily.
I'm hoping for a showdown against Cuban KO-artist Yunier Dorticos next.

I,too, think that Usyk will easily beat Bellew. And as for the young lions I cant really see someone like Nielsen or Laggoune win a single round against Usyk.Gassiev has firepower but I wouldnt bet a single coin on him against Usyk.
You re right.Dorticos and Briedis also are the names who can be competetive against Usyk.
The only fighter who wouldnt be a huge underdog against Usyk at this point of time is probably Lebedev, but he is getting older by the day and his time is quite limited at the pros.I guess he will soon quit the game for good.
So,yes,Usyk is certainly able to rule the roost for a very long time and to be the long reigning king of the hill at cruiser weight.
I guess he is even a serious threat to 99,00% of all big boys at heavy weight.

Lebedev vs. Ramirez was the first unification at CW since Haye vs. Maccarinelli way back in 2008.

That's because Huck, YPH, USS held titles and German promoters don't do unifications they milk titles. With K2, Ryabinskiy, Hearn controlling the belts atm it's a different story while Briedis (Main Events) and Gassiev (Ural Boxing Promotions) are the upcoming mandatories. Monopolies kill !!!!!

Depends on politics, if other beltholders will actually fight him, network contracts, luck, and only a little how much better skilled he is as the other top cruisers.

For me, Bellew is at the top of the list. He's the weakest link, then any of the guys you mentioned after that. USYK is the top guy in the division in most people's eyes at only 10-0... That says alot about his qualities as a fighter.

    FTFY :gaydude:

He has the fighting skills, whether he has the diplomacy skills, we'll see.

He beats Bellew now, would beat Lebedev after a couple defenses in a year or so.

I very much doubt that Lebedev will still be in the game when Usyk is truly read for him.Sure, even at this point of time I would probably favour Usyk to beat Lebedev, but there is no doubt that at this point of time Lebedev would be the biggest threat to Usky the cruiser weight division can offer.
Lebedev is getting old and hasnt much time left at the pros but his firepower is still murderous.Even a fighter as skilled as Usyk would walk on a shaky rope when sharing the ring with that old Russian banger.

Usyk definitely needs some good experience, he has quite a number of elements to pull together before he can be THE Usyk.
