On paper, this guy looks like he may put up a good scrap, but he hasn't been fighting any worldbeaters. I really would like to see what he can do with some guys who have a pulse. He does have power, and is relentless, but does he have anything else than can get him the victory over Pac?

i really don't know, i have my doubts , i saw his fight last night and i think he's maybe a little overrated, from the standpoint of people saying his going to beat Pacquiao, Pac is proven he has beaten 3 top mexican fighters Barrera Morales & Marquez, i would love to see Valero again but against better opposition

No, not yet, his defense is really bad. I think Pac would destroy him at this point.

Pac would beat him silly. Valero has not got good defense atal would be open to Pac all nite... well at least till he gets knocked out cold.

No not yet atleast that would be the perfect example of being rushed. Valero barely has rounds under his belt and hasnt really beaten anyone of note id say get him in there with somebody like Jesus Chavez if possible next and maybe a fight vs Humerto Soto which is very risky but it needs to be done to find out what this young man is about.

Nah.. Valero hasn't got name value and hasn't beat anyone decent. For Pac right now it is the money fights and Valero aint no money fight.

yea definitely, I'm positive pacman will lose if they trade punches. Valero's power is on a different level all together. One punch from him makes a fighter look like he's been through 6 rounds.

He might have more power than Pacquiao at 130, but you cannot even say that for sure since the best guy he has faced was Vicente Mosquera. Pacquiao holds the edge in defense, skills, speed, and experience. I think he would find the mark with his straight punches all night, before stopping Valero in about the 4th or 5th rounds. I dont give Edwin a good chance...

Yea we dont know who has more power, im just favoring edwin on this one based on what i've seen from both of them. I don't think pacmans defence, skills or speed are that much better. I think his skills are lower, based on how he overcommits on a lot of his punches and leaves himself off balance and out of position. His defence might be better but that's only because valero's opponents never forced him to be defensive, except for mosquera. Pacman looks to be faster on his feet though, but his punches aren't as accurate as Valero. Valero's punches are so overwhelming, that it forces his opponents off balance even when he hits their gloves.

If pacman trades, i just see valero hurting him more based on how Valero always positions himself for a well balanced power punch.

I think Pacquiao would demolish him at this point. He has too many deficiencies.

If pac man trades i dont see valero coming off it in a very good situation. both in terms of the fight and his health (previous head injury from mortorcycle accident reason he cant get a license in the states). valero hasnt really knocked anyone out that was known to have a good chin unlike the latter who has knocked out top p4p fighters who never tasted the canvas. plus his best fight was against Mosquera who wasnt known to be a power puncher just a well rounded fighter, yet he was able to trade and knock valero out, of course valero won that fight but he still got put to the canvas. How much more when he fights at the elite level. Valero has skill but for some reason his coach forgets all this and tells him to go wild. hes a wide swinger that will get caught by a straight most of the time.
