This is mean't in terms of relevence and resume...Dirrell my favorite fighter in the SMW...has been inactive for some time now...Bute well...his situation is obvious...can these fights still happen I am a big fan of Wards and would like to see the legacy/resume increase...and him make a bit more money...but he is running out of credible opponants at the weight...I don't want him to end up like Bernard...once great but making defense against nobodies and smaller fighters...apart from the warrior Froch no else would probably be willing to fight him... Thoughts please brothers... Dipset4Ever
well dirrell needs to fight. due to his inactivity that fight wont happen untill dirrell gets rid of his ring rust by having a couple tune ups. and for bute if he beats froch in the rematch then that fite very could happen but there is alot of young super middles that will be comin for ward. yes i think ward can beat all them but tommy gun, edwin rodriguez are on the rise and dont forget bout kelly pavlik he could get himself in the mix if he gets another good win..... but at this very moment there isnt a fight out there for andre .
I'd still be intrigued by Ward-Dirrell. Bute needs to come back strong, but the Froch rematch is set for early next year. If Froch beats Bute emphatically once again, there is little point in Ward-Bute.
these fight both can happen. i do think bute can come back strong and maybe put froch i dont count him out. but if dirrell comes back n gets a good win throw him in there with ward. so bute needs to beat froch and dirrell needs a tune up n those fight can happen. as of right now ward doesnt have ne options. he shoulda fought bute while he had the chance . then get a fite lined up wit dawson . then after he worked dawson , dirrell would be ready .then if hes still at supermiddle . tommy gun and edwin would be ready and if kelly pav is a drunk again i wanna see that fite as well
In Bute case , it mostly depends on what he'll do in rematch with Froch. At least Bute yet is the biggest draw from SMW , Dirrell brings nothing to the table ! :yep
Of course he can. He's on top now, but his legacy has just begun. Getting to the top of the mountain is a big part of the journey, but it's not the endgame- now he's got to stay there. He's had one defense since he became "the man" at 168. I'd love to see him rule that division with an iron fist for at least 5 (and preferably 10+) of them before moving up. Bute and Dirrell are as good a challenger as any.
I would like him to fight Bute in canada...I don't believe Bute is as much of a threat at this point...plus it looks better...
Bute has to rebuild himself, if he can, and beat Froch in the rematch, if he can. A Ward-Bute fight won't happen unless this happens.
Hey, laffie! How many people do you think will attend the next Bute fight? And will you personally attend the Froch vs. Bute rematch?
If Bute can beat Froch in a rematch I think Ward Bute has as much hype as before. Dirrell just needs to fight, build his resume a bit more.
