That Joshua is not living up to the hype at all. He looked stupid hitting air all night and being protected by the ref anytime parker did a farrt. Also correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Joshua during the fight decide on his own accord that he would stop the fight have a little breather and get his glove taped again? Never seen that before .
I'm going to say here that I said this was going to happen. Parker was going to be much more work than almost anyone expected and people would say AJ is overhyped instead of realised they've been underestimating Parker. Parker obviously needs to get on the pipe with Dillian Whyte to be taken more seriously
People are finally seeing what I've been saying for years, he's okay, but nothing special. Fine, I was wrong, I predicted he'd be exposed by a C level fighter, it took a few solid B- level guys to get the job done instead. He's painfully average in every way.
Oddly enough his fans used to and still hate and berate Wladimir. They're both big tall yolked out upright robotic fighters who are overall slow. A clutch difference would be that Wladimir dominated every minute of every fight for a decade. Joshua won't be able to say the same. But you'll be able to siphon all those years of complaints about Wladimir straight over to Joshua and then some! Surprising that a Wladimir hater and a Joshua fanboy are often one in the same... Joshua fans are obnoxious but like most on this forum and the internet in general, they are trying to get a rise out of folks. In my case, it's working... Golovkin, Beterbiev, Lomochenko, Joshua. Keep 'em coming. Ultimately however he is the best HW in the world today. So there's that. Just that being the best HW in the world means less now than it ever has.
HE couldn'T even score a single KD against a B class smaller guy. It was boring as hell a fight. Unworthy of PPV
Agreed. I predicted Parker would either get stopped late if he decided to go for broke in the later rounds or go the distance if he was content just to survive. Anyone expecting a quick Joshua KO need to fricken get their fanboyism in check. Same thing happened with Takam. Joshua said it would go 10 rounds, fanboys lose their **** when he doesn't stop him inside 3 rounds. Joshua then says he'd stop Parker late, fan boys on the hype train again throw their toys out of the pram when god forbid a durable world class heavyweight goes the distance and isn't taken out inside 6 rounds. Parker isn't a Charles Martine or a Carlos Molina. That level of fighter you can expect to get blasted out but were talking about proven world class fighters. Takam had a proven quality chin, Parker hasn't shown any signs of being chinny at all, you don't just blast durable guys out at this level. So in response to this thread, no Joshua is living up to what I expected. But of course Joshua isn't living up to hype the hype has people believing Joshua could KO Godzilla, the Hulk and Superman all in one night.
Ive never expected Joshua to live up to the hype. He is above average in a very average division. The hype is not for us it is for the paying masses of sheep who listen to sky sports and the papers. He has flaws, he is no unstoppable monster, he is a little stiff, he is a little upright and doesnt have a great deal of movement. But we know that, known it for a while but here he is, still standing, unbeaten, all but 1 world title, calling out the holder of the other belt. He, his team and his promoter are making the very very most out of his career, if you want to fall for the hype and then knock him down when he doesnt live up to it thats fine, i didnt fall for the hype, i see him for what he is which is a good but basic and flawed champion in a division of flawed fighters.
