Ok lets debate this WHY DID MAYWEATHER ACT LIKE A THUG?

Ref said FIGHT ON and signalled both fighters together. The fight is BACK ON!!!

Floyd did what he was supposed to, Ortiz started this Mayweather finished it.

It wasn't a fight at your local pub at 3am. This was suppose to be the best boxer (selfclaimed) in the world! With that he should be trying to promote the sport in a positive way, not taking advantage of a ref who lost control. Dog shot in the eyes of the general public, wanting to see boxing at it's best, regardless of all the politics. **** for boxing, if he is what it produces! ****ing peanut.

Nah Freddy roach amongst others had already done their bit to convince the boxing world that ortiz would give floyd hell and was a good live opponent. Didn't he spar pac? Surely roach saw some things to make him think so.

Mayweather dont give a ****. He knows people will ALWAYS buy his fights. Didnt hurt Tyson's PPV numbers when he bit Holyfield. Why wouldnt they hit their opponent when they werent looking. I'd put my ****in house on Hopkins doing the same thing as Mayweather did.

Why not, because it's true? Yes this is a sport I agree, and one of the 1st rules of boxing is protect yourself and defend yourself at all times. The referee re-emphasizes this before each fight.

Ortiz had already apologized twice adequately, Floyd acknowledged and allowed him to approach him twice already to do so.

As much as I'm NOT a FMJ fan, I can't find him in the wrong for what happened.

What made it disgusting to me is this.

Fine floyd if u dont wanna do the whole apologising thing then fine. As ortiz was approaching you then you should have kept your own hands up and looked like your ready to fight. But what he did was respond to ortiz saying sorry, dropped his own hands, then as cortez looked away went crazy on ortiz. He knew exactly what he was doing. He baited ortiz in then tagged him deliberately.

Also if you feel so good about what you did then why the did you dodge merchants questions after the fight?? He was embarrassed and knew what he did was deliberate and not a sportsman like act

tysons stock was high because of his bad boy image... did that do him any good? their comes a point where being disliked so much will have a negative toll on your mental state. i can see floyd on a slipery slope to be honest!

Fuk sake watch the fight again. After the headbutt Ortiz hugged Mayweather and then kissed him on the cheek. The ref then took a point and Ortiz and Mayweather touched gloves. The ref said box on and Ortiz STILL wanted to hug and apologise to Mayweather. His own ****in fault.

Victor was looking for the FIRST punch and he decided to look at the referee for the second, why in the hell didn't he step back or put up his guard?

The ref had said FIGHT why wasn't he ready?

He had already touched gloves and kissed Floyd? Come on this is boxing not tiddly winks!!

It was the perfect response to an intentional headbutt.

I do hold him accountable for what he did... it's not like he suddenly got possesed, I think he did something wrong here alright.
But i've seen this before in pro boxing and Ortiz let him do this, and maybe Cortez had a hand in it as well, but Ortiz had already apologized, so wtf was he doing trying to hug and touch gloves again...
When you're in the ring you're not supposed to headbutt, but you shouldn't feel bad about it and ask for forgiveness for the remaining rounds..
You touch gloves and that's it

BTW I think the ref needs to do his job to avoid controversy like this..

Nah, I don't think he will have lost many fans. Have you seen the guys on here praising that cold **** sucker punch? They are typical of his mass following. Probably will even have gained some fans, that ****'s been repeating on the news endlessly, and people love brutal knockouts

If he gains more haters from it, well the image he is trying to portray is the ultimate heel, so for him that equates to more people who might be paying to see him lose in future.

He wins either way because boxing fans are so demented, being starved of big fights, we keep mindlessly paying for them no matter how many times they leave us disappointed.

No doubt he should have been, but that wouldnt have stopped Vic from getting KTFO!

Victor should have been ready I know if I did someone dirty, I would be 100% ready for retaliation.

It just so happens Mayweathers response was actually legal.

thats all well and good if mayweather just went straight at him and acted like he wanted to fight straight away. but he didn't he went to shake his hand then when ortiz was off guard he knocked him out! simple as that.

he tried and succeded to trick ortiz!
