The "prime" discussion doesn't mean jack ****. One particular boxer may be past is physical peak (which, for most athletes, would be at 28/29) but still be developping his skills. 28 year old Golovkin was not the boxer he is now. In addition, modern training, nutrition and career management have been pushing the age bareer for years in almost every sport.

The fanboys began saying he was past prime after Brook ripped him with uppercuts years ago so its clearly damage control in an attempt to make him look way better than he is.
And its not that he isn't good because he obviously is , he's just not as great as they want him to be.

This winning fights way past his prime is just a jerk fest of fanboysim. A lot (not all) of GG fans are not real fans of boxing.

GGG had 350 amateur fights, fighting with a very aggressive seek-and-destroy style and ''no defence,'' right?

    Very aggressive style

People forget that about a lot of these former top amateurs who had very extensive careers in the unpaid ranks, especially ones, as I've just said, who fight with a very aggressive style like GGG, and they also conveniently forget that they don't turn pro at 18 like your Crawhype's and Jermallo's who get major props for moving up in weight despite the fact that they're huge weight bullies, especially the former, who moved up because they were draining themselves half to death on the scales and have actually moved up less weight than GGG did since they were 18 years old. GGG has moved up 19lbs since he was a senior (18 years old), whereas Crawhype has only moved up 8lbs and it will be 15lbs in total when he makes his welterweight debut against Horn ie. still 4lbs less than the amount GGG has moved up. And Jermallo has moved up a whopping 8lbs since he was 18.

Prime is not a number. If you watched boxing long enough you'd know this.

Example - GGG is more prime than 32 year old James DeGale is right now. Nathan Clevery was a shot fighter at age 30 and is now retired.

Sure age isn’t the ONLY factir regarding prime, but it’s probavly the biggest factor
Wars is probably the second biggest factor

Haye is shot for multiple reasons and age, while one of the biggest, is just one of them.

Golovkin is slower, both in reflexes and timing, but he’s not shot yet. Reason for the drastic difference between the two is obvious, Golovkin isnt the more naturaly gifted one of the two (chin aside) but he’s far more disciplined in maintaining his shape, doesnt torture his body (so less wear&tear, injuries) and hasnt got prolonged periods of inactivity.

GGG is still the best MW (BJS being 2nd) but he's on a gradual slide yes.

I'd rather watch GGG above any other MW right now .

Badou Jack and Bomber Bellew are two guys that got better as they got older. Both are 35. I don't hear anybody saying Jack , Bellew and Kovalev are past it. GGG fans just don't have much else to grasp onto since his resume is so shallow and he failed to get the win over a puff'd up JMW

Most Boxers stay prime way longer these days than in the past.

On ESB, All-Action-Heroes never age and are Benjamin Buttons, but Defensive-First-Slicksters age rapidly and become shot at 32.

    Definitely good points there
GGG has a very extensive amateur background which must have added miles

Obviously at 36yrs old (no matter how you wanna cut it) GGG is not in his "prime"

    but he's still a monster.

He was trained to absolutely KILL Clenelo on Saturday night. End his life kinda stuff was prepared for. Nobody should expect a rematch being inked up for September.

He is way past prime, if you can’t see it then you are either dumb or blind
