Can we now admit that the Margo / Baldomir comaprisons

i put up before the fight

margarito is one dimensional/poor defense /treacle slow hands and feet/average boxing abilty.

but to compensate he is very big at the weight/granite chin/ fanstastic stamina/huge punch output/does not get disheartned or discouraged.

i did not think mosely would ko him , but even granite chins get worn down if hit enough and margarito reached his breaking point.

never had margartio p4p top 10 , never had enough abilty for me.
he is better than baldomir though.

DO you think a great fighter like Shane beating Margarito means ANYTHING about Baldomir vs. Margarito? You started this thread. Are you of the impression now that Baldomir would beat him?

Baldomir is tougher than Margarito and has marginally more skill. Skill being a relative term applied to both of these guys. Baldomir went the distance with Floyd whereas PBF would kayo Margarito.

Baldomir was a nobody who had a Cinderella run as the Undisputed Welterweight Champion. Margarito is a fighter that the boxing public knows. e has been under the radar for some time. Does anybody remember when Bob Arum offered Mayweather $8 million to fight Margarito that Mayweather turned down twice. In fact Mayweather turned down a fight with Margarito and fought Baldomir. My point is that there are no comparisons to Baldomir and Margarito except that they speak Spanish and are in the same weight division.

 

Arum never offered floyd just MArg alone, it was a package deal. You dont know what you are talking about.

PBF was right to fight Baldomir rather than Margarito when Arum made the offer. The reasons are as follows:
1. PBF got more money for the Baldomir fight than the $8 Million offer Bob Arum made for him to fight Margarito
2. Baldomir was the WBC champion and linear champion having taken the undisputed title of Zab Judah. Margarito was not the linear champ merely the holder of the WBO trash can belt
3. PBF has beaten to many Mexican fighters who actually have more ability than Margarito across different divisions.

I know Uncle Roger Mayweather was called the Black Mamba and Mexican Killer in his fighting days but please ask yourself what has Margarito got in his arsenal to compete with a master blaster skilled boxer puncher like PBF. You saw what a 37/38 Shane Mosley did to Margarito and whatever anyone thinks or says this being Shane's best performance remember at 37/38 Shane is past his best.
