I consider him inactive...and hope it turns more permenant, I'd like him to still be able to string sentences together...
If you wanna insult me I'll just prove you wrong. Evander Holyfield House in Foreclosure The former heavyweight champion appears to be in serious financial trouble. His palatial estate in Fayette County is under foreclosure, according to a legal notice that appeared in a local newspaper, and is set to be auctioned by Washington Mutual Bank on July 1. The home is worth an estimated $10 million. The home boasts 104 rooms, 54,000 sq ft and sits on 235 acres just southwest of Atlanta. Also, the mother of Evander Holyfield's 10-year-old son -- one of 11 children he's fathered -- says the boxing icon has missed two child-support payments, filing a petition for contempt in the Fayette County Superior Court. Back pay is just around $6100.
Evander Holyfield's mansion under foreclosure Former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield is facing mounting financial and legal woes. Holyfield's $10 million US estate in suburban Atlanta is under foreclosure, the mother of one of his children is suing for unpaid child support, and a Utah consulting company has gone to court claiming the boxer failed to pay for more than half a million dollars for landscaping.
I actually went to High School with Evander's Nephews and graduated with one of them. Evander has been told for years to sell his mansion as it costs 1 million dollars a year just for all of the up keep. He is not making as much money as he used to obviously and he has several children to support. I beleive he has been divorced twice so you can see where a lot of the money has been going. Evander refuses to sell his home and it is one of the reason(s) he and some of his original team split up mainly his longtime attorney and advisor Jim Thomas. Evander is not in "Mike Tyson financial trouble" but he is not in good financial shape compared to where he was say 10 years ago. This will not end good as he is now around a bunch of "yes" men and we all know what happens in these types of situations we have all seen it before...........
its a shame that he is in this predicament, a superstar like him who made millions from the ring should have had his money managed a lot better. lets face it the average guy on the street can only dream of having money like that!!! and if he is to box on at the age of 46 purely for financial gains is a sad spectacle indeed. he should be enjoying his life with his family and playing golf rather than exchanging blows with dangerous young fighters!!!!
Holyfield is not retired as yet. He'll keep going and going until he gets soundly thrashed a few times. I thought he would have hung it up after James Toney punished him - but he didn't learn his lesson then. unfortunately the rest of his losses have been due to being outboxed - not beaten up.
Holyfield should have a worldwide ban on being able to box in sanctioned proefessional boxing matches, because he is in danger of causing himself fatal injuries in a boxing ring now. He has only been fighting on for the last 5 years in order for financial reasons as clearly he has no chance of being competitive at the elite level he used to enjoy competing at.
