Okay but can we at least let Wilder keep his crown as the biggest can crusher in history? No man has ever beat more bums than Bumsquad. First legit opponent he ever faced (a cherry pick gone wrong) beat him three times.

The was just Audley being Audley. He's been flatlined before so it's not a huge accomplishment to perform.

Liakhovich Ko looked legit. Lyak got hit flush on the chin while at a side on angle, and the type of flopping he did while on the floor looked a lot like Donaire vs Montiel, probably quite hard to fake in the heat of combat.

Shavers and Briggs also KOed quite a number of bums. There's some stiff competition in that category if you're willing to go back a ways.

I have been over this again and again with people, and I don't want to argue the point, especially since you are one of my favorite posters. But I have never seen anyone twitch like that, and it looked phony to me at the time. When Scott took a dive which he actually more or less admitted, it came together for me. I will never believe that was legit.

People have actually posted clips that they thought were comparable, and to me, the were not.

Yep, the only difference is that no one ever considered either of those guys the best at the weight. Wilder walked around pretending to be the king after beating a bunch of bums. When he lost he made excuses and his fans ate it up like gravy. Fury did boxing a favor by taking the belts away legitimately from that sore loser dosser. Good riddance.

we cannot say that since his opponents are not the best in history.

Probably impossible to prove one way or another, and I don't really want to disparage Lyak since he doesn't strike me as the type to take a dive and visibly took a couple of solid shots before dropping, unlike the Scott fight where everything looked phoney from start to finish.

Lots of shadiness around Wilder's whole career though, so I wouldn't be surprised if something fishy went down in that one.

You are right, Wilder wasn’t the first can crusher at HW. He just parlayed it to a level never seen before in terms of $$$ and fame. Those other guys were secondary fighters and no one ever confused either with the greats. Not long ago, people were putting Wilder in the ATG conversation.

Hasn't duaphas been knocked out by lesser punchers? doesn't mean they hit harder than Wilder does it? Stivrene 1 is irrelevant because of the 2nd, and arreola is just tough asf. Those three fights don't say anything bad about Wilders power.

Wilder couldn't ko Tyson because Tyson's simply too elusive. That, and he could see Wilders punches coming from a mile away. I've never seen a top boxer telegraph that much.

If you were to make a list of the greatest heavyweight punchers in history you would almost without exception see two things:

    1. Most of their most famous KOs are of journeymen or boxers who have a lot of KO losses and

    2. They tend not to knock out their very best opponents.

    Because

    3. Great prime fighters tend not to be knocked out during their prime. That's part of the reason they're considered great.

Foreman is probably the greatest puncher if we are going purely by number of prime high level opponents he knocked out. But after that, Wilder is very much in the mix with all of the other renowned heavyweight punchers in history.

Mo -> totally agree! I always liked to watch his fights back in the day. Of course we cant say it for sure and its only a personal opinion of Francois Botha, but he felt a single punch of Mo has more force/power/pure strenght as a single shot of Wlad, Tyson and Lewis.
There is a guy on YT and he did currently some cools vids about Mo and his samoan "brothers" David Tua, Mark Hunt and Ray Sefo.

About Schilt: He was the most effecitve K-1 fighter of all time imo. I see him as Nr. 1 even before Ernesto Hoost, Peter Aerts, Remy Bonjasky and others, but thats a matter of opinion.
He was 6'11"(212cm) tall and weighed 282-293lb (128-133kg) in his prime, but was much more skilled as the same size (7'0") Valuev, who was much more clumsy and slower.
